So we booked a "superior" double room with lake view (please see photo for what you can expect for the view), and after staying our six nights here, we are disappointed at the price compared to what you actually get.

For reference we paid ¥25,920 a night, and although this was in Spring, it was the most expensive per night on average out of our trip. This price we understood more when we walked into the room and realized that double room means double sized bunk beds, as in the room can sleep four people.

The wifi was fast, and we had our own AP in the room, but the amenities in the room were lacking in some places. The tea, creamer, and sugar was never topped up during the room cleanings we had. The towels were quite old and thin feeling, and had no clear towel rail area in the bathroom which made them difficult to dry, and the shower did not drain well and often overflowed to the bathroom drain.

The room does not have a TV available, but does have a lovely kotatsu with a couple of bean bags so your legs can be nice and toasty, which was the highlight of the room for us. There is also a heat pump unit in the room.

The staff were very friendly, and the hotel was happy to receive our suitcases via Ta-q-bin which was handy. The lobby was also comfortable and homey. We did have dinner one night at the restaurant but it was quite pricey so didn't repeat and instead went to the Lawson for a lot of our meals as the township mostly closed by 7pm.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, but would probably look for somewhere else on our return trips to Hakone. This hotel feels more like a hostel with some private...

We arrived approximately 2 PM . We were tired , cold & wet from the rain & were told by a very unfriendly front desk staff that the check in is at 4 PM .|The 2 of us and only another couple were kept waiting until exactly 4 PM to get the key . They had the rooms available , still the keys were not given even 5 minutes before 4 PM . |This is totally unacceptable & disrespectful to the customers.|The room we booked was a ,, superior room with private shower & lake view “ It was very small & had bunk beds !!!! The lower one was floor level and you had to get on the floor on your butt to get on the bed . Same to get out . Very uncomfortable, felt like sleeping on a wood board , had a back ache afterwards . Cheap bedding , bad pillows . |2 bean bags partially filled to sit on , you were mostly sitting on the floor , not enough filling to hold you .|If you want a way overpriced bad motel room , book here . |We stayed at TKP hotel near Gora station after for the same price and WOW , what a difference ! |Definitely , I would not...

The property website claims they have in-house onsen, open in June 2023, but no such thing at all, we were only told after checking in, as they did not reply my reservation of private onsen before my arrival, they could have told me and we must have changed accommodation because we only came to Hakone for ONSEN! We asked the staff about closest one but it takes 30+mins commute, they looked very reluctant to help us call and book the onsen. Other than that, the room was ridiculously expensive for such small space and amenities, adding tiny shower and the beanbags costed us ¥28350, same rate could find a decent place in the onsen village Hakone Yumoto, or a semi-luxury hotel room in HK. The scam goes on by free parking not belong to the place, side lake view can only be seen at the edge of balcony, shower water soaked up the feet, big spider and spider nets right at the room door… To summarise, people especially foreigners may only come to Hakone once in their lives, definitely not deserve such experience.
