Lake Ashi Pleasure Boat Moto-hakone Port — Local services in Hakone

This pleasure boat is really a catamaran. It "sails" smoothly to three stops, mostly at one end of the lake, the pier, near the ropeway and the last, another pier.

These are mostly at one end of the lake, port. After leaving the "start" pier, keep an eye towards the left (portside). If you're lucky, Mt Fuji's snow capped top should come into view. Woohoo! I saw it and will be lucky for the rest of the year - if only it was January and NOT November.

Ideally you should get off at the two intermediary stops to have a walkabout. Otherwise it'll just be a short 40-50 minutes ferry ride with some commentary of the sights.

First of all, Hakone Free-pass includes this cruise fare too. There’s two separate lines in the port for free pass and special pass. Inside the cruise also, frontal side of ship for special pass and other half is for free pass. Within the ship, we can do up and down for sightseeing and photoshoots. Elevator also available. It was my mistake that I went here without know that this is NOT THE PIRATE SHIP that I wanted. Sigh. This is another sightseeing cruise that operates in a nearly identical route next door. Head to the other pier in the South if you want pirate ship. This cruise is obviously old and not well maintained. There were just under 10 people when I took the ferry. The shop at the top deck was not even operating. I do feel sorry for them as I guess the pirate ship has probably took away a high amount of...
