Ashinoko Terrace — Restaurant in Hakone

The place is amazing, very romantic if you go as a couple. The food is delicious. You have to wait in line, but if you line up at 1 pm it is very likely that you will be the first to enter. The food is Italian style. And if you are lucky enough to get a table in front of the terrace, you will surely have an incredible view of the lake. Visit in January 2023: We stumbled upon this place by accident, after the early closing hours of the Japanese countryside took us a bit by surprise. Despite not having a reservation, staff were very helpful in getting our family a table so we could have some dinner. Pizza's were beyond expectation good and we had a great dinner. Would definitely recommend should you be in Hakone and want to have something different other than the delicious Japanese food...

The place was half full when we got there, the english speaking worker asked if we had a reservation to which we replied "No". He replied with a big sigh and then showed us to a table without saying a word.

He was then constantly rude and unhelpful during our whole dinner while the japanese staff was wonderfully pleasant and helpful by comparison. Just something to keep in mind.

Food was good though, bit pricey but not...
