Summary of my experience: Poor service and attitude. Made us feel discriminated against.
I stayed in this hotel for three nights this month. I arrived on the evening of 24 October 2019, and it was raining heavily that night in Hiroshima. I have been driving in Japan for the last 7 days of my trip and never had I met such poor attitude from the hotel staff ever. Usually I don’t even bother to write a review but I have to do so because I can’t believe this type of service or attitude even exists in Japan. I have been to this country thrice and every single person was polite, till I met two of the hotel staff here. It is appalling and I don’t think I will ever forget this any time soon.
Firstly, relating to parking. We drove a Toyota Sienta, and by any means it is definitely smaller than many of the cars already parked in the hotel’s car park. It was so obvious using even your eyes, you don’t need any special ruler to measure. However, in that heavy rain, we were turned away from the parking lot of the hotel, by this male staff. Simply by pretending to measure the height of my car, and telling me that my car does not fit and I cannot park there. Because of this, I had to unload my suitcases in the heavy rain and was drenched. However, ten minutes later, my family had clarified with other hotel staff, and only upon realising that we were going to stay for three nights, then another staff allowed us to park. I wonder why the different attitude of your staff. Some were polite and helpful.. and some treated us like dirt. I truly felt discriminated. Two of the staff, one male and one female made us feel extremely discriminated against. We were talking to the lady, asking if she can speak English.. she said she couldn’t at the parking lot. The next thing when I entered the hotel, I witnessed how she could converse fluently in English with other guests.
Next, during the so called complimentary welcome drink, the female staff working on 24 Oct evening was extremely rude to my elderly parents. She had black face and were adamant about your one-drink only policy. If the hotel is so keen about being welcoming guests with this drink, I think this staff of yours made it extremely unwelcoming because her actions again were appalling and unacceptable as a service staff. She had grabbed one of our drinks and thrown it away, thinking we drank more. I still cannot believe such a thing can happen, treating us like high school kids. We rather not have the free welcome drink then. We also witnessed how this female staff was extremely friendly with other local guests, greeting them and welcoming them, but showing us her black face each time we interfaced, best was that she stared at us rudely.
For what it is worth, we do not recommend this hotel despite its good facilities and location. And will not be returning. How you make people feel last a long time. We are never going to forget this bad bad bad experience. Discrimination and poor service attitude! One of the worst ever to be honest in any country we...
Read moreOverall a solid hotel, considering the price. The location is very good, in walking distance to the peace park, A-bomb dome, Hiroshima castle and the shopping district. I had a room on the highest floor and could see the A-bomb dome from my room.
Aside from that, this is a typical japanese business hotel. Small rooms, but completely functioning and well thought out. Please note that the rooms are very (!) small. I opened my suitcase on the floor and this basically covered the entire remaining floor not used by the bed or necessary to reach the bathroom and exit. If You have more than one suitcase, consider getting a bigger room. Since this was also the cheapest hotel I stayed in during my trip to Japan, the room size was neither an issue nor unexpected. Value for money was very good overall.
It is nice that there is a room with coin washing machines and dryers, but the dryers (at least the one I used) don't seem to work well. I had my laundry dry for 90 minutes (more than recommended by the machine) and it still came out relatively wet. I then had to lay my laundry to dry all over my small room for almost 24h until it was completely dry. This could...

Got the "King" bed room which is really two twins pushed together with another layer on top but didn't really matter to us. Clean, had the proper amenities. Only thing I didn't like was the bathroom had a huge step, almost a foot off the ground. Definitely could be dangerous in the middle of the night. Breakfast had a LOT of good options I couldn't even try everything. They even had unagi rice. Coffee machine was unfortunately broken but they fixed it by the time breakfast was finished. They also had free pour drinks during happy hour but you're limited to just one.
Walking distance to the Hiroshima peace park and the bus/tram stations are also right outside.
Partner used the bath and reported it was nice. No one complained about her tattoos. We also used the laundry service. The dryer took a while but seems to be the norm in Japan and we did have quite a bit in there. They have a free massage chair while you wait and free laundry pod. Cost to use was 400yen/wash and 100y/30min dry.
The staff were also kind enough to let us leave our bags there a few days ahead of check in while we did a separate leg of our trip which was...
