I stayed for 2-nights and honestly you can't really go wrong this local brand. First time stayed one in Okinawa and I love it. This one in Hiroshima is no different: great location and great value. Details below:||1) Location: I was debating whether I want to stay near the central or stay near the Hiroshima station. However, I prefer staying nearby the station which makes more sense. It's easy to get around with the tram/train from the station and I don't need to drag around my luggage inside the local train/tram when I'm catching Shinkansen train. Additionally, since it's located 5-7 mins walk from the station, I get everything I want, convenience stores, foods, pharmacy, malls, everything in the walking distance. Although mind, during summer, the sun can be strong and there are parts of the walkway where there is no shelter, so make sure you prepare with decent sun protection. Anyway, location is great!||2) Lobby and reception: Both lobby and reception is very minimalistic yet comfortable. You'd be mistaken that from the outside that it looks like a coffee shop. Anyway, staffs are very welcoming although mind that there is no such early check-in or late check-out for this brand. Even if you coming at 14:55 and your room is ready, check-in time is still at 15:00. This is no strange when staying with local brands in Japan. You can also grab some amenities here before going to your room. Additionally in the morning they provide some complimentary bread and different kind of bakery as well coffee and some drinks. ||3) Room: Typical business hotel in Japan, at 15 sqm, it sounds cramped, but they did the layout just right so it does not feel cramped at all. Bed is comfy, the bench is also useful to put suitcase and stuff, light switch is not too confusing. Best of all, the shower room is modern and spacious enough for a tall guy like me. Decent noise insulation as well, very quiet at night. ||Overall, it's a nice 2-nights stay and I definitely consider to come back if I'm visiting...
Read moreGreat size for a family stay, but cleanliness needs work
We stayed at Nest Hotel Hiroshima Ekimae during our recent trip, and overall it was a solid choice. One thing I appreciated and that lines up with many of the other reviews, is the hotel’s convenient location, just a short walk from Hiroshima Station, and the modern, compact design that works well for short stays.
I was pleasantly surprised by the room size, especially for Japan, it was perfect for me and my two sons. We had enough space to move around and sleep comfortably, which can be rare in city hotels.
That said, I was pretty disappointed with them not having converter plugs and the cleanliness, particularly under the bed. I have bad allergies, and as soon as I laid down, I started feeling them flare up. Later, I dropped an earbud and had to reach under the bed to retrieve it, that’s when I noticed the thick layer of dust and dirt in the areas that aren’t immediately visible. Definitely not what I’d expect from a hotel of this standard.
If they tighten up the cleaning routine (especially in hidden spots), this could easily be a 4 or 5-star stay. Until then, I’d say it’s a good pick for short trips, just maybe pack some allergy meds if you’re...
Read moreDecent location from major station in Hiroshima.Fairly new and clean everything. The biggest space in hotel room traveling from Tokyo to other major cities in Japan. It was quiet and not too crowded.Free breakfast was very limited to mostly bread, orange juice, apple apple juice, and coffee.Clerk said that they had to come in every three days to change sheets so I planed to do so but they did not change bedsheets.Laundromat is lacking desk or folding area so it was very challenging who does laundry. Also, dryer is the worst if you ever use it. It takes forever to dry even for small amount of clothing. And only two machines running at this hotel. If you ever have to do laundry, try to do it at another hotel. And at last, this room was the most spacious room I ever experienced in Japan, but sadly, there was no towel rack after use of towels! No place to dry our towels after single use, which was very inconvenient and can be added by hotel easily!!Refrigerator was not working properly. After all, this hotel is very convenient and grateful for its price. I would stay again if I have to stay around Hiroshima city.It is a bit of distance toward downtown if you decide to walk, but there is also train card running...
