The hygiene situation in the room was unacceptable. Visible mold, dusty corners, and an overall unclean feel made the stay very uncomfortable. I would rate the cleanliness just one star, if not less.
The facilities are also outdated and in desperate need of renovation.
On the positive side, the female front desk staff were excellent — friendly, polite, and attentive. Their professionalism stood in stark contrast to the condition of the room.
Some other staff interactions lacked the same warmth, but the kindness of the women at the front desk was the only redeeming factor of the stay.
Sadly, unless major improvements are made, I wouldn't recommend this...
Read morePleasantly surprised by this hotel in Kochi. It's located at the tail end of the Sunday Market Street, about 15 minutes walking to the Castle. So, a pretty central location.
I arrived by car and was lucky to get one of the free spots at the back. Check-in was easy and didn't take long. The amenities are at the front desk, so grab what you need on your way up. My room was definitely larger than most Japanese rooms. Same goes for the bathroom. It even had a full sized bathtub, which I very much enjoyed. My room was clean and tidy, and the wifi worked well throughout my stay. They do offer breakfast, but it was not included in my rate, so I can't comment on...

Luckily I could still park for free. WIFI was good. The bathtub was big enough and soothing for a tired soul.|Most important of all is its location. It's just a few steps to the Shopping Street, close to the Hirome market, and Sunday market (though we never got to visit) and also the Kochi castle, all within walking distance. |Finally for the price we paid, it's really a steal...
