City Pension Le Lion d'Or — Hotel in Kyoto

I stayed there for 3 nights during the sakura season and it was very enjoyable. It is just next to the Nijo Castle which is very convenient if you plan to pay an early visit. Also there is a bus stop just opposite to the hotel so it is very easy to get around, not to mention a subway station nearby like 3-min walk. The only drawback is the nearest exit does not have an elevator (it will matter if you are with your luggage), but you can go to the other exit and the walk to the hotel will be like 8 mins more. ||||The staff there are very nice and welcoming. My friend and I enjoyed our stay here! Very clean and convenient. A five-minute walk to Nijo Castle, lots of great food around, and easy to get to many attraction via public transit.
