A wonderful local establishment with the friendliest couple who own/run the shop. It’s hip and charming. There’s a certain magic that radiates from the large wooden communal table in the center of the shop that the customers gather around. If you have enough sake you might need to use the cute little elfen bathroom. I strongly encourage you to carve out a 1/2 hour or hopefully more in the afternoon or after dinner to sample a variety of local sake all while getting educated on the different brands/styles, talking with the locals around the communal table and eventually grabbing a bottle or two to take back to your hotel. I was really impressed with the wide range of sake available at this shop. From well-known classics to rare varieties, they had everything a sake enthusiast could wish for. The staff were super friendly and had extensive knowledge of the products, which made choosing the right sake much easier. The owner doesn't speak English and we tried the tastings based on the reviews here. Gosh it's so expensive. $7 us for 1 shoot of sake. His sakes are usually $20 a bottle, that's at least 20 shots of sake. Don't do the tastings! Too expensive and he only let you taste 1 type of sake. Of course, it's only 1 shot. Haha.
