Hotel Ecclesia was founded to help single mothers, providing employment as well as shelter nearby for them and their children. But even aside from being a cause well worth supporting, it's just also a seriously nice place! It's honestly been my favorite stay of this trip. I wish I'd thought to take photos before I tromped in and used everything! Just know it was all even neater and cleaner than it looks in the pics, absolutely spotless.
The building is a repurposed apartment complex, so the rooms are HUGE, with wood flooring covered by a mat in the "living space" and "foyer" (make sure to leave your shoes at the door!) and carpet elsewhere. There were multiple outlets within close range of each bed, (very important), two shared between beds and one at the foot of one bed and two at the head of the other respectively.
No toothbrush and toothpaste provided here, so be sure to pack your own, but if you forgot you can pick one up (along with a comb or a couple other things) for a small fee at the front desk, where you can also request a few free amenities like a humidifier or air purifier for the duration of your stay (make sure to go before they close at 9 p.m.!). The staff was so friendly and helpful, and all in all I had a lovely time. 10/10, would...
Read moreGuys, this hotel is superb for a group of 3-4 people (though I’m not sure if they offer smaller room packages).
This was my first time using an electronic check-in system. It’s not hard, and there’s nothing to worry about. If you come during working hours, the staff will help you if you have any issues. But honestly, there’s nothing to be concerned about even if you do self-check-in.
The bedroom is really relaxing and comfortable, with enough space for four people.
The restrooms and shower systems are excellent—spacious and much larger compared to typical Japanese hotel standards.
The location is great! It’s close to a supermarket, Lawson, 7-Eleven, the metro, and JR, making it very convenient to stay here.
Overall, it’s very satisfying—a perfect...
Read moreThe hotel was very nice. It was very very clean. The location is about 500 m from Nijo station, only 3 station to Kyoto station, but it is on residencial area so the neighberhood was very calm. The room is japanese style, so instead of using bed, we sleep on futon. For us, the futon is comfortable. The room also quite spacious, quite big for 3 asian people. There is a laundry room in 2nd floor with affordable price. The only problem we had was during checkin. the hotel was self service, so we had to put some kind of password to open the main gate. But we didnt receive the password in our mail, whether from Agoda or Hotel Ecclesia. After waiting for a while, the receptionist came out and open the gate. Over all were very satisfied staying in...
