Honestly, I’d rather eat McDonald’s.
The duck and lemon ramen sounded amazing when I first saw it on the menu outside. Once seated, however, the staff only pushed drink recommendations, which already felt off. You have to order one drink per person, fair. We ordered water, 480 yen, which costs the same as their lemon highball (alcohol). Make it make sense.
We ordered the lemon duck ramen and an avocado croquette. Sadly, the only fresh element of the ramen was the lemon slices. The duck was just pre-packaged smoked duck, the kind you could easily find at a convenience store. The “broth” was watery and tasted like nothing more than soy sauce mixed with water.
The avocado croquette was even worse: mushy, greasy, oily and covered in mayonnaise. Again, nothing fresh.
The kitchen looked dirty, very...
Read moreMy husband and I have a really hard time to find vegetarian friendly restaurants here in Japan, so we were really happy when the owner told us that he has a few vege-friendly dishes. We reserved for dinner that day. Prices seemed to be fairly good. We ordered 2 salads, gnochi, and 2 pasta. Well, the salads were normal sized for Japan (pretty small). But everthing else was tiny!!! The gnochi with tomato sauce were like 10 gnocchi?! I wanted to order the cream cheese spaghetti, but the owner told me the sauce is made out of chicken stock, so I ordered tomato-lemon spaghetti, no lemon flavor sadly. All tomato sauce dishes tasted the same. We paid more than at other restaurants and left hungy. After that we went to another restaurant we had been at before to get...
Read moreSorry, I have to be honest. Lovely host, cute place to sit and watch the world go by and listen to great music. Lemon themed and cosy. Had 2 'lemon' steak and parmesan fries. Maybe it's a preference thing here, I'm not sure, but the fries were just crunch, nothing else. Erm how can I say this without offending? The steak was the worst I have had in 50+ years. We literally could not break it down by chewing. It actually worked a baby tooth loose on my poor young son :-) normally, I'd take it on the chin and move on, but with a couple of tasty lemon drinks, the bill was around the AUD$60 mark. Hate to rank on one bad meal, but it's the only meal we had/will have there. Sorry Capri, being honest, that steak...
