Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Station — Hotel in Kyoto

【LOCATION/SERVICE】 This is my first time to visi Mitsui Garden hotel Kyoto Station. Receptionists are polite and English is good. The hotel next by Kyoto station. It's very convenient. Only need walk around 1 min. And no too much stairs on the street, that's great for with big suitcase when go to hotel. WIFI speed is smooth. Thanks for the room service (clean), we lived there for 4 days, the bathroom, bed and desk keep so clean! Thanks all of you prived so great service. We'll vist the hotel again when we go travel Kyoto next time.

【ROOM】 The windows can't be open since need to protect others vister's privacy, that's a little pity. But that ok for me. We took one 26' and one 24' suitcase and we can open these two suitcases at same time in standar room, that's realy great!

【Environment.】 The environment is safe. No weird person here (e.g. homeless, nightclub, host club...etc.) Basiclly, most shops close after 20:00~ 21:00. Whole Kyoto City is quiet, veryone taking voice is small. Whole dirver are polite, peace and slow. It's very safty to everyone travel in Kyoto.

【To others】 Some Taiwaness (like me) may has garbage classification (e.g non-recycle putinto trash can and put recycle garbage out of trash can), but please do not do garbage classification. Just put all to the trash can. Because if you don't put it into trash can, the cleaner will feel confuse when room...

Rooms: We chose the deluxe room 2 single beds. The rooms were clean and spacious for 2 persons. The beds were comfortable and well supported. There were TV, dressing and study desk, mini cooler, a kettle , Japanese tea pot and cups provided. The bathroom comes with a tub and automated toilet. There are no windows to view the outside.

Nearby activities: The hotel is located less than 5 minutes from Kyoto station and it connects to major cities such as Nara, Osaka, etc . Nearby like Fushimi Inari Taisha. Nearby are the Kyoto Railway Station, Kyoto Aquarium, Nidec Kyoto Tower, Kyoto National Museum and Shiseido Garden.

Safety: Access cards are required to go up to your level and also room. Security in Japan is generally good.

Walkability: The hotel is located less than 5 minutes from Kyoto station which connects to different mode of transports to get you to popular attractions.

Food and drinks: Within 1 km radius of the hptel there are many restaurants catered to both local and foreign.

Noteworthy details: Customer service is credit worthy as they are there to assist the customers from the time of arrival until checkout plus baggage forwarding service which we found to be heaven sent in Japan. It helps if one is also an MGH Rewards Club member as well. Different benefits for different customer tiering.

Conveniently located right next to Kyoto Station, this hotel is clean and quiet.

Our room was a good size, not too small. We enjoyed the quick walk to nearby shopping and the quick trains to nearby areas of interest such as Nishiki Market, Nara, Nintendo Museum, etc.

The staff were all friendly and we felt seen and greeted multiple times every day by every single staff member present.

My only issue was the laundry. It's a good sized hotel and they only have two self service laundry machines. They are coin operated and take only 100yen coins. There is a scanner to pay with pasmo/suica, but it wasn't operational when we were there. They were also constantly in use, from early morning to late at night, so we ended up not being able to do laundry at all during our stay, and had to wait until our next hotel. If the hotel could change anything, I would recommend adding even just one more laundry machine to help ease congestion of use, or to have a small money exchange in the laundry room so people can easily get...
