The best Tourist Information Staff of the World! Yeah not kidding, when my girlfriend and me (Germans) visited Kyoto we basically went here only for fun and to get Bustickets, but because of the staff there being so polite, friendly and helpfull, they organised my girlfriends greatest wish for our Japan travel- A women reched out, phoned around and gathered information to find us a little place to hear japanese live music from pop, jazz over rock in a cosy place. Called "Forgotten Times". Even during Gion Mazuri she found that spot for us with all information needed and we had a legendary and epic evening there. Also many other people both woman and men in the tourist center chatted casually with us, were very welcoming and took their time to not only smalltalk but answer any random question be it little or large. Even as a tourist with familiary bonds in Japan I had a great time in the tourist office and whenever I will go to Kyoto I will head there first again. Every thing is so easy there cause they take their time to plan all your wishes- Trip to Nara = check , Visiting monkey park = check, finding old and traditional restaurants = check, cheap grocery shopping and rare items = check... I could go on here forever, just trust me, whatever funny "gaijin" idea you might have, here they gonna help you with the typical japanese best customer service attitude and a smile on the face. Really kudos to all working there, my deepest...

Unfortunately they sold us wrong Osaka Orix Buffaloes Baseball tickets, but more frustrating was that they showed very poor compensation efforts - the story: We went there to go up the Kyoto Tower (btw they sold us tickets for 600¥ each) and they offered us additional consult which we took advantage of. We wanted to enjoy a sport event on the same day so they sold us two Orix Buffaloes vouchers (on the voucher it was stated "today") for going to the game the same evening. We went to the stadium and experienced a small Japanese culture shock: they couldn't accept our vouchers because they were valid only for July - we stated we want to see the game tonight (11.06.19) for which we bought these tickets. After 45min and many calls between Buffaloes stadium staff and Kansai Tourist Info it could be clarified that our credit card payment at Kansai wouldn't be charged... We came back the day after to Kansai to ask for compensation due to late entry to the game and phoning costs (~value 1.200¥) - we got offered 5% discount vouchers for specific products at specific drug stores or Gifu castle tickets - we denied. In the end we got a hand fan worth 1.500¥ (we...
