Hinaya Gojo Machiya — Hotel in Kyoto

Very beautiful machiya! I have stayed in a couple of different machiya and this one was very refreshing! It had a very modern style and a dining table which was perfect for our needs as we ended up having a dinner party inside the machiya on the night we stayed there. The kitchen was very convenient and equipped with lots of different implements and cutlery. I LOVED the bedding at the machiya, the duvet I slept under was amazing and we all said that we had a deep sleep that night. I slept in the tatami room, on the floor. Sometimes it can be a little uncomfortable sleeping on the floor if the bedding is not thick enough, but in this machiya I really couldn't notice it. The house was equipped with basically everything you can think of, including underfloor heating which was a blessing at this time of the year. The staff member who came to check us in was really professional and friendly, and was very happy to answer any questions we had about the house and the location we were staying in. Very convenient location, near some major sites in Kyoto. It was just off a main road but I honestly couldn't hear anything and you feel like you're living in your own little Japanese-style bubble. I was surprised when I left the house and found myself in the middle of the city again! We stayed in a group of 4, though I feel like even more of us could have fit in there. Our stay at Hinaya Gojo Ni Machiya Residence Inn was lovely. On first entering I noticed how spotlessly clean the property was and also to what a beautiful standard everything had been finished. The property is spacious and can easily accommodate a family of four. We stayed in the property for dinner and there was more than enough room to prepare a delicious meal in the kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and although the property is situated in close proximity to the road (set back a little through a private ally way), we heard little to zero traffic noise during the night and into the morning. This was one of the most comfortable and enjoyable nights we spent on our recent trip to Japan and I would highly recommend the property to friends and anyone else looking for a wonderful nights...

I stayed here during my honeymoon and didn't want to come back home. This is definitely luxury, well worth the money. The accommodations are just beautiful, with every convenience you would need during your stay, and lots of local touches, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms. Pictures are very accurate. The bedrooms are versatile and super comfy (Western style beds are a little firmer than I prefer, but still good). The staff is also so kind, and helpful with any issues you may have.
