A Dining Experience to Remember at Cicon Restaurant in Kyoto!
We recently had the pleasure of dining at Cicon by Nohga Hotel restaurant in Kyoto, and I can confidently say it was one of the most memorable culinary experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the impeccable service by our waitress Mizuha and attention to detail were evident, setting the tone for an extraordinary evening.
We decided to go all out and ordered nearly everything on the menu. Every single dish was crafted to perfection, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The Wagyu beef, in particular, was an absolute highlight—unlike anything we’ve ever tasted before. It was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The drinks were just as impressive. Whether it was the champagne, wine, or nonalcoholic options, everything was delicious and thoughtfully paired to enhance the flavors of the food.
The restaurant’s ambience was equally stunning. The gorgeous decor and soothing scent of incense created a warm and inviting atmosphere that made the dining experience all the more enjoyable.
Overall, Cicon offers a fantastic combination of exquisite food, top-notch service, and a beautiful setting. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough—it’s an absolute must if you find...

Stumbled upon it and ended up coming back two nights in a row—because once just wasn’t enough.
From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch. The staff was warm, attentive, and effortlessly smooth, making us feel welcome without being overbearing. It’s that kind of hospitality that makes a place truly stand out.
The food? Absolutely on point. Every dish was well-executed, with bold yet balanced flavors that left us wanting more.
You can tell there’s real thought put into the menu, using high-quality ingredients with careful attention to detail.
Pair that with a vibe that’s both stylish and relaxed, and you’ve got a spot that’s hard to resist.

Read moreAt first glance, the breakfast buffet seemed like it would be great but turned out to be just ok. You choose one hot item from a list and the rest are buffet-style. Unfortunately our hot items (the omelette and eggs Benny) were served cold. Otherwise the Benny was topped with a really nice pickled beet, smoked salmon and avocado creme but cold poached eggs are just yuck. The buffet items ranged from disappointing to pretty good. There is so much amazing fruit in Japan but definitely not here. I had some granola with yogurt and yuzu jam that I enjoyed, and my daughter had some of the baked goods that she gave mixed reviews. The maple French toast and mini donuts were good but the muffin and banana bread were dry. We were in the mood for a non-Japanese breakfast so we walked 25 minutes from our hotel to come here and I can’t say we would do that...
