Good hotel overall though there are always alternatives in the Umeda area for the same price.||Location: Excellent location, about a 3-minute easy walk from the limobus stop at Herbis. Don't use Haruka (JR train) as you will be left with a much longer walk. The immediate street where the hotel is located is very quiet. The nearest convenience store is a couple of minutes away. Nishi-Umeda station is very nearby. You can walk in the underground to reach other subway lines. If you want to go to JR, the best method is to walk to the KITTE Osaka Building for the Osaka station's West Gate on the second floor. ||Hotel reception is modern and comfortable. There are all sorts of perks like happy hour, morning smoothie/coffee, and a late night snack. Only one elevator reaches the street level though so if one has several heavy bags, a wheelchair or a stroller, expect a long wait. Others can just take the escalator.||Room: Stayed at a 25m2 Superior Twin room. The room was overall good with a good Japanese style bath area (bath tub and a wet area for washing). Toilet was separate. The bed was comfortable but the pillow required some adjustments as it's asymmetrical. Flip it around a few times to find the angle that's comfortable to you. The two issues I had were the lack of a true closet and then more annoyingly, the sensor light for the sink area. The light kept flickering on and off as we moved about in the room which was very annoying. There is a door that could block off the sensor light area but it would make it less convenient to move inside an already restricted space.||Service: standard good Japanese service though they offered no help with our packages and didn't tell us a cart was available for self-use when we arrived. Luggage forwarding was done without issues.||Cleanliness: mostly good though there was a stain at the corner of our bed sheet.||Public bath: indoor only with hot and cold baths and a sauna. No view but it did the job.||Laundry facilities: 6 machines that were usually all occupied in the evening.||Overall: At over 40,000 Yen nightly without breakfast, it's not the cheapest for sure. I liked the hotel though at this price range, there are other options, especially if you are willing to walk 3-5...
Read moreVery nice hotel with an excellent value for money. It's all trendy black and the interior is very modern and nice. Seems it was build not long ago, no visible usage like you see in so many hotels.
Service is excellent and very attentive. From the front desk to the service at the lounge, tables are cleared and cleaned in seconds and food & drinks are constantly added during the Happy Hour.
Speaking of which, they have a Happy Hour from 5-7 pm with free flow of Red & White Wine and some house cocktail (didn't try it). There's also free coffee all day long and soft drinks. Only weird thing is that during the breakfast (which you have to pay extra) there's no specialty coffee but the 1h before breakfast and after 10:30am there's specialty coffee for free. That's a minor minus point where I think the hotel owner should rethink that policy.
Rooms are "big" compared to other Japanese hotels that we've paid much more money for (we also stayed in the Swissotel Osaka which is almost twice the price, room was better in here). It has a bath tub and all the amenities are free unlimited for you to take from the front desk (toothbrush is already in the bathroom).
Location is ok, the Ritz Carlton is around the corner as well as the Hilton, all hotels are very close to the Osaka main train station so ideal to make day trips (which is one of the reasons why we chose it).
It's also quiet (at least our room 401). The Swissotel where we had a room on the 31st floor was very noisy from the road below (Motorbikes especially).
Absolutely worth recommending, you want be disappointed if you book this hotel.
The fitness room is quite small and only has 2 running belts, 1 stepper and 1 bicycle. That’s it, no weights or a machine. We didn’t try the Onsen but saw locals did.
Food is more leaning towards healthy Japanese than Western European one, though there are warmed up waffles, small pieces of cake, Yogurt and fruits.
One thing that could be improved is the aircon in the room, we set it even to 22 degrees and it was too hot at night even though it was 16 degrees outside. So that points to a too long...
Read moreRoom is very nice and clean and location is very good to access the community mall and transportation.. but absolutely terrible service!
I booked a room for 3 people and requested an extra bed for 5 nights in advance. When I checked in, the staff confirmed everything and said, “Your room is ready.” (In fact, I had booked the room one night earlier on purpose, because I knew I would be checking in late that night!)
But when I got to the room, I was shocked — the room was NOT ready at all! The maid was still cleaning inside, and there were only two beds! Not three, not what I paid for!
I went back down to the counter and told him: “The room is not ready! I booked and paid for 3 beds!” The staff just looked at me like “Oh, I didn’t know…” I was like — ARE YOU SERIOUS!? What kind of service is this!?
Then he had the nerve to say: “If you leave the room, we’ll bring in the extra bed.” I replied: “NO! I need it NOW! This is not acceptable!”
I went back upstairs — and guess what? Magically, the bed was already there after just 2 minutes! I was confused, annoyed, and honestly just DONE.
And it gets worse.
Later, I went to the pantry for dinner. I picked up my food and left a clear note on the table saying: “Not finished, I’m still eating.” Then I went to the bathroom for a moment. When I came back — MY FOOD WAS GONE! Just gone!
And then I had to pick-up my food again and took time for finished my food around 10-20 mins and I didn't realize that it was over time for dinner
The woman staff came to me and she gave me a nasty, contemptuous look and snapped: “It’s finished. It’s been over 10 minutes.”
Her tone and face were like she wanted to kick me out just because I stayed slightly over time.
Yes, I get it — I should have left before time was up. But when she came to tell me, I was already standing up, ready to go. She could’ve just told me politely, but no — she chose to be rude, dismissive, and disrespectful.
I’m honestly shocked by how unprofessional and unfriendly the staff were. This experience was frustrating from...
