Grand Green Osaka is a beautiful new area — modern, stylish, and clean, especially during the day. The architecture and landscaping are impressive, and it’s a pleasant place to walk around or grab a coffee.
However, early in the morning, I noticed quite a few homeless people sleeping on benches throughout the park and open areas. It gave parts of the area a slightly rough atmosphere, almost like a different city. While this is understandable in any large urban center, it does take away from the otherwise premium image of the place.
That said, during the day it’s generally safe, comfortable, and very clean. The area truly shines on weekdays when it’s less crowded — weekends tend to be packed with visitors.

Read moreGRAND GREEN OSAKA was a special gem I didn't know existed just a few days ago. Stumbling across it on a morning run, I made sure I returned there later on that day. This is an absolutely beautiful park and shopping center that was recently opened in the center of Umeda. The green park is surrounded by beautiful greenery, a small pond and beautiful architectural structures. The entire complex includes multiple shops such as a brand new Nike store (probably the best one i've seen in Japan), a beautifully-designed Starbucks Coffee spot, and other bakeries and stores.
