Located just less than 5 min walk from the famous Glico man, the location of Joytel Hotel Namba DOTONBORI is definitely for someone looking for convenience. It is also a 7-10mins walk from the namba station depending on which exit.
Hotel staff are really helpful and friendly. Some does know how to speak basic English which is very helpful during communicating. Lobby and breakfast are small but still manageable. Breakfast is served in a form of DIY sandwich.
As for the room, it is really small for travellers like me who travelled as a pair with 4 luggages (2 large and 2 hand carry) There are barely any space to move around even with the closed luggages at a corner. So keep in mind you planning to shop a lot! Please do not book this hotel. Next, the drainage is very near the toilet door and the layout and design of the drainage port and the door will cause the carpet outside the door wet. In addition, the situation doesn’t resolve even with the shower curtain. Suggest to place a towel or cloth just to prevent the water from getting out of the toilet. Personally, it is uncomfortable stepping onto a wet or damp carpet after a hotel shower. Lastly, the queen size bed is rather small to accommodate two adult comfortably.

Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights towards the end of March. This place is a great location and made main attractions and trains very walkable. Plenty of points of interest and food near by. Hotel offers a breakfast but we did not take part in it. They also offer pancake hours throughout the day. We had pancakes a few times and were surprisingly good. Since they use the same machine that you see in Best Western style hotels, I was expecting the same sad taste. Glad, this was not the case.||The check-in area is small but clean and staff was very nice and spoke good English. We arrived early and they allowed us to drop off our luggage so we could explore until 3pm. We also had a late departure and they were willing to hold our luggage again.||The room is small but seems typical for a Japan hotel. The air conditioning was fantastic. My only complaint was that the beds were harder than we would like. I did not ask if there was anything to make the bed softer.||All in all, it was a good hotel and I would stay here again, as long as additional bed padding was available.||We also found the best place for money exchange was next to Namba station. I couldn’t find their location on google maps but they have a large store front. 10 min casual...
