I visited 2 times in a week and I would give an overall 3 star rating.
We ordered the same 7 courses hairy crab and snow crab meal for both visits. The first visit was amazing. The crab tasted divine and we enjoyed a great time with the amazing services.
However, it turned into a nightmare when we revisited few days later with our friends. The food tasted pretty similar to what we had at first. The only difference was an hour after the meal, 4 of my friends had mild diarrhoea and I had a high fever and serious diarrhoea (more than 10 times) the day after the meal. The only meal we had in common was the crab course at night so we were pretty sure there’s something wrong with it.
I was trying to spot out the differences between my 2 visits. The only objective clue we can give is that we were situated in a room with an AC that constantly dripping water which soaked the Tatami. We requested to change the room but the staff apologized and said the restaurant was so full that they couldn’t arrange another room for us. We were fine by moving the table away from the wet Tatami. Not sure if the environment has caused any hygiene issues.
We had an amazing time when we first visited the restaurant with our family and that’s why we invited our friends for a second round few days later. It was unexpected and unfortunate that we had to pay such a great cost of our health.

We liked it here better. We were also lucky to get a table with a river view which added to the holiday atmosphere as we saw happy tourists on their boat ride passing by every 30 seconds. We tried few other crab restaurants in Osaka and I would have to say this meal we had in Kaniyoshi West today was the best. I don't need anything fancy such as putting crab meat in dishes or combined with other ingredients. The simple form of steaming, roasting, sabu sabu, etc with no gimmicks are the best way to enjoy the sweet flavour. We tried the course at around 35,000 yen inc. tax.
