Read more2 Things I did not like about the cruise: I bought a ticket online so that I can avoid the long waiting queues, but still when I came and stood on the line for boarding the cruise, the ticket conductor told me that I have to go upstairs and get my ticket scanned and activated. It took me a while to do that, and in all cases I couldn't avoid the queuing and waiting longer to board. That is so inconvenient. The tour guide was noisy. First, no English speaking tour guide (which is not mentioned anywhere), forgetting that mostly the ones who come for such a tour are English speaking. He also stood right infront, where we would take the photos, until I had to ask him to move a little. We are not allowed to stand up or move around, so basically there's not much to be seen from the level of where you are seated. Speaking through the mic in loud voice and just mostly saying hello to all the passers by, was very very noisy. Such curses don't need such entertainment as people are basically there for the scenery, and it is 20 mins ride...
Read moreBig thanks to Hideaki for treating us, me Kie and Ryu to the 20 minute Tonbori river sightseeing cruise, which is fun and a popular tourist activity there in osaka, the tour/cruise begins from the Tazaemonbashi Wharf just in front of the Don Quijote Dotonbori shop, goes under nine bridges along the river, from the boat we can see the bustling area of Osaka's Minami street and area. and we can take good pictures when the boat goes near the big octopus sign and the well known Glico man signboard, the guide on the boat tells some interesting background story of the development of this area, and most interestingly, he encouraged us to greet those people/tourists on shore by waiving our hands to them while the boat sails near to them, and the friendly people did respond by waiving hands to us in earnest, some with smiles! A secret: the guide said he did learnt some tricks as ninja (日本忍者), he did show some ninja move /posture during the cruise tour, at the end, we clapped hands loud to salute him for the lively atmosphere and fun he created...
