We had an absolutely amazing dinner at Kobe Beef Kisshokichi Nishi Shinsaibashi, and I can honestly say it was one of the highlights of our trip to Osaka. I came with my two boys, ages 8 and 10, and the staff went above and beyond to make them feel welcome and included in the experience.

From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The chefs were warm, funny, and engaging—not just with the adults, but especially with the kids. They explained everything they were doing on the teppan grill and even joked around with our boys while preparing their garlic rice and Kobe beef steak. Watching the food being cooked right in front of us was like dinner and a show rolled into one.

The food itself? Out of this world. The A5 Kobe beef literally melted in our mouths. Every course—from the Kobe beef sushi to the miso soup to the perfectly seasoned garlic rice—was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. Even our boys, who can be picky eaters, were blown away.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience here. The atmosphere at this location is upscale and classy. All of the employees were respectful, kind, and helpful. Not everyone spoke great English but did a wonderful job communicating nonetheless. We never felt the need to use "Google translator." If you haven't been to a restaurant like this before I'll give a quick breakdown. You pick your protein option (Kobe beef) and "sides" separately. We picked the silver option and each got the garlic rice set. In the sets you get the soup and salad along with your pick of rice, garlic rice, or a different option. There are also a la carte options as well as upgrade options. The food is on the pricey side but it was well worth it. Our chef was T. Onoue, and he was fabulous! Wonderful preparation and presentation of our meal. He let us know what he was preparing and serving to us.
