This hotel is tucked in the quiet corner of the buzzling dontobori streets. Very easy to walk over to dontobori, central life supermarket and metro. Theres a co struction going on which makes going to the metro abit longer.
Stayed in family room for whole 9 days. 4 adults with 2 children. This is one entrance that brings u into 2 rooms. We were worried about the single toilet issue. The washing area, bath room and toilet are separated. So we all manage to take turns to do what we needed. The toilet ventilation is very good too. The room comes with 2 massage chair. 1 full body with leg massage chair and the other inner room have a body only massage chair. Both came as a bonus to us and we used it daily after our day of long walks. The room was big enough for us to have 4 luggage open at a single time. 4 of 26" luggage! There is a super huge tv in each of the "room" area. There are enough hooks and racks to hang out our daily towels. The safe is good enough for essentials but can't fit a 13"laptop though.
They keep the hotel safe by locking down the auto entrance aft 9pm. So just need to use room card to tap in at the entrance. No hassle at all.
The hotel lobby was awesome! Spacious and equipped with children utensils and glass ones we used for adults. There's also a microwave for us to heat up our food. And not forgetting the choices of beverages. Juices, yuzu, chocolate, milk tea, coffee and even hot soup. And there's a pool table for entertainment too.
We did laundry 3 times. There are 4 dryers n washer. No need to bring own detergent as its self dispense. The dryer isn't too strong so just do an hr. Forget abt testing the default 30mins option. There are 4 massage chairs for use while waiting for clothes to finishing washing.
Nearby there are Lawson n 7-11 that is less than 10mins of casual walk. We went there to grab bkfast everyday. There is also a nice ramen stall too which starts from 11am to 3am jp time. Good for supper haha.
Finally to end this review, I must comment the hotel staffs professionalism and friendliness. There are staffs who converse in English n Chinese. All of them are so friendly. Greeted us daily with warm smiles tt starts our day energised and warm us back to the hotel after every day of 12k...

Honestly, I didn’t hv high expectation on this hotel when I first booked it as I find their room rate is rather high and compatible to the rest of the 3-star hotels.. but, it’s their service that I want to compliment here.. we are group travellers of 8 including elderly, toddler, pregnant.. so on our first day of check in, the founder actually led the way to the hotel while we were pushing our luggages at the direction gets abit tricky for us n he overheard we are searching high n low for hotel 88.. the receptionists are all very friendly (day or night shifts).. in our 2 nights of stay, the staff are all very attentive and friendly.. giving us the best smile and warm as they can.. when we need help, there are concurrently 2 or more staff coming over to lend us a hand without asking at all.. that is how attentive n helpful they are..
And, to also highlight the big help that Nana-san and Mr. Horie (both receptionists) have lent us, were really highly appreciated.. I lost my phone in the Namba train, due to the language barrier (although their translation device is very good already), I wasn’t sure if I can understand the train master fully. So, we have told the hotel reception about what had happened (both of them Nana & Horie are very well-versed in English), so Nana (night shift recep) offered to get Horie‘s (the morning shift recep) to call up the station to help us check on the lost phone. And by the next morning, the receptionist came to us with the outcome that the station found the phone and written down clearly on a paper of the time n where to retrieve it with the lost item’s reference number without having us to go follow up with them.. they stopped us when we were on our way out of the hotel thinking to head to the station for updates..
I was really touched and impressed with how helpful they are and of course for Japan’s efficiency in retrieving lost items in the train! Hence, my stay in Hotel 88 and in Japan have been a great one! Keep it up and hope it maintained as it is the next time I...
Read moreFrom the moment we checked in to time we checked out the hotel staff was very attentive to meeting our needs. The Manager Naoya checked us in and spoke English fluently. Even the owner stepped in and helped us with our bags and took us to our room. We were very happy the room check in process was smooth. We were very impressed with all the amenities offered in the hotel and room. Robes were provided which came in handy since I forgot to pack my pajamas. Charging usb ports were provided with electric outlets by each bedside, laundry washing machine for guests at a nominal cost which included laundry detergent!, free drinks in the lobby, charging cords in lobby, and lots of places to sit to lounge around in the lobby, we loved the functionality of the room such shelves by the window to put my toiletries, full length mirror, and lots of hooks around the room to hang dry clothing after I used the washing machine. The room was very clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable for our last night spent in Japan. It was the perfect place to end our trip since I really needed to do laundry after traveling for 7 days and headed to my next destination. The location was central to everything to explore Osaka! When we checked out the staff was super helpful in giving us the details to take the airport shuttle and even had a hotel shuttle driver who took our suitcases to take us to the OCAT bus terminal so we didn’t have to lug around our suit cases from the hotel to the terminal which was only minutes away from the hotel. Even one of the hotel staff (Kato) came with us in the hotel shuttle to help us get the airport shuttle tickets from the convenience store that was outside where the airport bus picked up. We would have never figured that out if not for her coming with us to the bus pickup point. Would highly recommend for any traveler to stay here in Osaka especially for the moderate...
