The Ebisu Tower Ferris Wheel in Dotonbori, Osaka, is an iconic attraction that offers a unique way to experience the city. Located along the bustling Dotonbori Canal, this Ferris wheel stands out for its oval shape, which is quite different from the traditional circular Ferris wheels. Riding the Ebisu Tower Ferris Wheel provides a great vantage point to view the vibrant nightlife of Osaka, particularly at night when the city lights are glowing. The views from the top are breathtaking, giving you a panorama of Dotonbori’s illuminated signs, the lively streets, and the busy canal. The Dotonbori district is known for its vibrant energy, famous landmarks like the Glico Running Man, and endless food stalls, making a ride on this Ferris wheel a perfect way to take it all in from above. Whether you're a tourist or a local, the night view from the Ferris wheel is especially enchanting, as the city transforms into a dazzling sea of lights. The ride itself is smooth and leisurely, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the sights. For those looking for a memorable Osaka experience, a ride on the Ebisu Tower Ferris Wheel is a must. It’s an exciting blend of Osaka’s modern cityscape with its traditional love for fun and entertainment, making it a special stop for anyone exploring the...
Read morethere are two 'must do' tourist attractions whilst in osaka, especially for first time visitors: the tonbori 道頓堀 river walk/cruise and this one! again big thanks to Hideaki who generously treated me, Kie and Ryuichi to this Don Quijote store Ebisu Tower ferris wheel ride 唐吉诃德 惠比壽塔 摩天輪
this ferris wheel is not the usual ferris wheel type: first, it glides along the oblong oval shaped rail on the outside of the Don Quijote store Ebisu Tower; secondly, after you get into the gondola cabin, sit down, and safety bar lowered to keep you safe, cabin will rotate 180 degree outwards and the cabin door closed, then you can start to enjoy the ride for 15 minutes (when the ride finish, and you need to get off, the cabin will rotate 180 degree once more so that you can get off from inside)
maybe you are afraid of height, but actually i think it is much safer than riding on the more common ferris ride, although the wheel stands at about 77 meters (253 feet) tall, from the ferris wheel capsule transparent window, you can enjoy all the sights of south Osaka and Dotonbori from high vantage aerial point, for example, the Tonburi river/cruise by looking down, the other osaka attractions: Tsutenkaku Tower 通天阁 and Abeno Harukas...

On the first day, they closed early without any reason. On the second day, they didn't open at all. On the third day, Google said they closed at 10:00pm, but when we arrived at 9:30pm they already refused to let us in. My child was really disappointed. I told the ticket seller that I had just seen someone go in, and asked if they could sell us two more tickets so we could go up together, since there weren't many people and there must be seats available. The ticket seller rudely said no, and when I asked for their manager, the manager also rudely refused. This is the worst experience we had in Japan, and if possible, I would give them a...
