This hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from Sapporo station or just a 5 minute taxi ride if you have plenty luggage.| The check in process was quick and easy and the staff explained what the keycards are used for, to call the lift for your room and the open the doors if you were coming back after 1:00am. The keycards also had to used if you wanted to go to the steam bath on Level 2. | The room was compact but still had room to move around. There was a clothes rack near the front door to put your clothes on and a small wardrobe to put the luggage away so that had room to move. There was a tatami bed which made it interesting if you did not feel comfortable, the only only that I did not like was the soft pillows as had to use two to feel comfortable. | The bathroom was interesting as had a wash basin and then next to it was the shower separated by a door. The shower had complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body soap. In the fridge you had 2 complimentary water every day and also could boil water in the kettle if you wanted tea or coffee. | On level 1 was also the restaurant where you could have breakfast if you wanted to and it was open from 6:00am till 10:00am. There was a selection of some Western and Japanese food. When you came in to the restaurant you had to show your breakfast vouchers and then the staff member would give you a card to show you were there to have breakfast and when you were finished had to return that card to the staff member.| On level 2 there was a small laundry with 2 machines and they were in use a lot so had to pick your time right when they were empty. If you had 3kg worth of clothes to was it was 500 yen and if it was 1kg wash it was 400 yen . To dry your clothes it was only 100 yen. On level 2 there was a relaxation room where you could have a massage by massage machines ,or read i.e. just relax.| The Kennokuji shopping complex was right next door to the hotel so you could purchase something or go to some of the restaurants there. There were quite a few restaurants near the hotel also so you did not have to go too far to have anything. There was a 7 11 store across the road from the hotel if you wanted some drinks or food.| All staff that we came in contact with were friendly and went out if their way to help the best...

We visited at the end of October from Hawaii. It was our 1st time to Sapporo and we were pleasantly surprised by the convenient location of the hotel which has an entrance directly into Tanukikoji Shopping street. The hotel is located on 5 Chome and I believe there are total of 7. There are many hotels located within Tanukikoji Shopping street, but we were happy with Karaksa hotel. You walk outside the hotel and there are dozens and dozens of restaurants within a 5 minute walk and even restaurants directly across from the hotel. The hotel is also a 2 min walk to catch the Chuo bus back to New Chitose Airport. (It was about a 5 min walk from the drop off point coming from the airport). Hotel room was Japanese style so not very large but the King Double room was good. There is no closet, just a rack to hang clothes. They provide basic amenities in the room like soap, shampoo, & conditioner. Extra amenities are located next to the front desk and are free. There is also a microwave near the front desk. The room does come with a fridge but it is on the small side- you can fit maybe 5 bottles of water. They provide 2 free bottles of water per day to you and if you place the “do not disturb” magnet on the door they still leave fresh towels and bottled water at your door. The walls are quite thin and you can hear everything from the person next to you. They also were cleaning other rooms daily and for hours at a time. We could hear all of that as well. Another kind of negative is there was only 1 small window in the room which can only open a few inches. So there is no view and it can feel a little like being in a box.
