http://www.hamanoyu.co.jp/||Stayed here one night on 15 May 2015, with a group of 26 people.||This is a traditional artistic Japanese-style hotel. The overall interior of the hotel is nice. The lobby is nice, shop located in the lobby is small.||||Our room (number 707, Japanese-style with twin beds on tatami-mat) was large and nicely decorated. Toilet and shower were separated. Toilet and bathroom were both small. The Yukata was beautiful. We can see the Suwa Lake from our room -- nice view. Pillow and bed were quite hard for me, as the thin bed was on tatami floor. All guidance and remote controls (TV & AC) were in Japanese, except for the Fire & Earthquake precautions was available in English. Cups and green tea were available in the round box near the Flat TV, while refrigerator was located near the sofa near the window. You can find glasses in the cabinet near the refrigerator.||||The hotel provided indoor and outdoor hot spring (onsen) pools. The outdoor onsen opened from 5 to 0 AM, while the indoor opened 24 hours. Sauna was available only for men, while steam-bath was available only for women until 9 PM. I tried the indoor onsen in the morning. There were 3 indoor hot spring pools. The onsen area and pools were clean. Small towels were available both in the guest room and in the onsen area. Vanity room with body lotions and face creams, comb, hair-dryer were available in the onsen area -- nice. Lemon - Green Tea drink available in the onsen waiting area. Try the onsen, if you stay here.||||Dinner set was delicious, especially the hot bowl soup. Breakfast was also served in Japanese bento (box) set, which was OK.||||Overall, I enjoyed staying here, it's a beautiful and clean hotel. However I found difficulties in using the AC remote control, as it was in Japanese. Free WiFi only available in the...

This is a nice place to rest yourself. You can tell the friendly staff about your requests and they will try to help you utterly. It serves the average Japanese standard and their spa is superb. They have both indoor and outdoor and a herbal spa in addition. Please be reminded to book their dinner on the website. Btw, there were some hiccups when booking via the website, the fonts are specific and I have asked help from my friend who can type that ๅ…จ่ง’ fonts. This is close to the JR station and the lake. Good breakfast with nice classical music all along. You can stay with all local here. One of the staff in grey hair can speak some English and quite...

Hamanoyu feels like an old grand dame from another era. The staff do their best to keep up the quality and they do a good job. My room was small and cute. The sauna and hot spring facilities were well-maintained and felt comfortable and relaxing. I only got breakfast, but it was more than adequate. I feel that not enough. People are visiting that part of Nagano these days, and that tourism is suffering, which is ironic because much of the rest of Japan appears to be booming. I hope, I can do my small part to help get...

A hot spring hotel with a view of Lake Suwa, with a great view from the 8th floor and above. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hot spring baths are circulating, but there is also a sauna and an open-air bath, making it a relaxing place to stay. The food is delicious, with teppan-yaki grilled beef from Nagano Prefecture. Suitable for families.
