The room has an amazing view of the Miyagawa river especially in a winter white season. Really beautiful waking up to that. Nice warm room. But bunk beds for 2 people isn't that fantastic. We ended up not using the upper bunk. The toilet and showers located at the common 1st floor. Super cold on a winter day. Imagine brushing your teeth on a -1°c day. Gotta go down to the shower wearing all my layers. Oh, also the towels are tiny. They can at least do a normal size towel like normal hotels. Not a single staff in sight except for cleaners. Read moreThe hostel is right by the small old town and close to a supermarket, and the morning market also. Staffs are very nice and always try to make us guests happy. They're concerned about the fact that the hostel is an ancient house and may make noise, but it didn't happen. Toilets and showers are almost on the 1st floor, separated with rooms so it's very quiet. Luggage space is outside of the room so there's no worries that an early wake-up dude (which is me:) would disturb anyone. Common area is not too big, which means guests are easier to talk to.
