Me and my husband went there for a dinner in September. We made a reservation. The restaurant is small but there are tables for two or four and single chairs along the wall. The menu included lots of variety of food like vegetable options, cooked fish, hida beef, fresh fish. We ate Italian roll, hida beef roll, nob roll, Philadelphia roll, shaggy roll (my husband said that plate was the best of all), nigiri like tuna, red shrimps and others. I like nigiri in general, I always order them wherever I find sushi restaurant because they are an indication of freshness and quality. Our journey through Japan isn't over yet, but these are the best nigiri I've ever had before! The staff is friendly and was able to help me choose a gluten-free dish. They have soy sauce for me. I wanted to try the roll with hida beef and they prepared the sauces separately so that I could taste them. Very kind owner, we complimented him on the good food and kindness. We...
Read moreAfter rolling my ankle this morning hobbling around town, we stumbled upon Sushi - Dining Nob. We enjoyed a lovely meal here. They have a great selection to choose from and the owner was friendly and accommodating. The English menu was a plus too.
We had done in restaurant sushi twice on this trip. The first was in Hakone and was super premium with a price to match.
However, Sushi Dining Nob was better. Everything done to perfection and very affordable. We had the Hida beef roll, shaggy roll, avocado roll, spicy fried chicken and vegetable tempura. All were delicious. Also has a really nice Gin Back cocktail. This only sad point is that we needed to rush off to collect our washing from the coin laundry, otherwise we would have stayed a little longer :)
If rolled sushi isn’t your thing then there are lots of nigiri options too.
Great place, all the thumbs up! Will come back on my next trip...

Although there are some parts of the service that were frustrating because they could be imprived so easily.
The waiting time was long to get a table and to get food but that was not a problem since there was a sign on the door letting you know and only one person preparing all the food (huge respect for this!). However, when we walked in we were ignored for 10 minutes and had to catch their attention to speak to someone.
A simple solution would be to ensure the waiting staff acknowledge the customers at the door and communicate better to let them know there will be a long wait, perhaps give them a menu to look at whilst waiting. I could see there was definitely opportunity for the staff to do this. Communication is so important and this simple step would have made a...
