Hitachino Beer is a local craft beer YOU HAVE TO DRINK while you are in Japan and if you can make it to the Hitachino Brewing Lab, you will definitely not be disappointed. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the restaurant is non-smoking, they accept credit, and the staff speak a bit of English or just enough to get by. I come here once a month. I always order the beer sampler with a side of brown-sugar-soy-sauce nuts and a mackerel sandwich! The brewery itself is located in an old building which I think it used to be a train station...the building also hosts local independent designer shops, cafes, and an outdoor space with a view of the passing trains. Also Akihabara is about a 10 minute walk from the Brewery, so why not make a pit stop here before or after going to Akihabara and if you see me here say Whats up! And before I forget, if you end up liking the beer...they can fill-up a can of beer for you on the spot and you can take back home as souvenir or if you wanna be gangsta and drink it on the street, just order your beer in a...

A wide selection of beer from the Hitachino brewery are available on tap and in bottles. The beer was delicious but I didn't try the food.
If you arrive without a reservation you can use reserved seats until the time marked on them. This is a great innovation that I wish more places would take up. Both the venue and the reservation-less customer benefit!
There are a number of outdoor seats under a roof with a view of the river which would be nice in warm weather.
When I stopped by on a Friday evening all the seats were reserved. The customer base appeared to be mainly male professionals in their 30s. Recent pop hits were playing in the background and there was a bit of a lively atmosphere.
Highly recommended for craft beer fans....

I got the Weizen which was delicious, it was a nice spring day when I got it so it went down perfectly with my ham sandwich (go for the lunch meal deal).
When it's in season, try the Plum Sour if you are into sours.
Advice on how to find: place is hidden in a tunnel-like area just South West of the main vehicle & pedestrian bridge that goes over the Kanda river. The tunnel-like area is the entrance to a boardwalk area that runs parallel with the southern bank of the Kanda river. On a hot day you'll feel a cool breeze from the river.
Bathroom: walk west along the boardwalk, follow signs past "M7" and the bathroom signs. Enter in through the glass door to see the...
