I had family visiting from the US and the end of their trip was in tokyo. I was going to stay one more night but decided I would send my luggage ahead of time to my next destination so I wouldn’t have to deal with it on the shinkansen. I called ahead to ask if the hotel had this service; they said yes. When I got to the hotel, it was a bit too early to check in still but I thought I would get it out of the way and send my luggage. It was between 8:30-9:00 am. The next location is actually the hotel I work at in shiga and I knew it would be fine to send my luggage. The man pictured below, he said he needed to call to make sure even though I had assured him it would be fine. Of course I understand he has a job to do, protocol to follow so of course I said do what you need to do, I get it. He called but because the day before was a closing day for the hotel ( we are a small hotel in the countryside of shiga) no one was going to be there until 10 am. When the employee got the voicemail, he proceeded to say to me “no one will be there until 10am. They must be LAZY.” I was utterly shocked at this extremely rude comment made by this employee. I understand if English isn’t your first language, but I have encountered many Japanese people similar to him that never express that kind of inappropriate behavior. I am not sure if he was trying to make some joke with me but I don’t know him like that, I don’t have any relationship with this person. It left a terrible taste in my mouth and from then on, all I could think about was how I was going to write this review. I work in hospitality and that comment was extremely rude. I would never stay here again, I don’t care how good the room is, just the idea of possibly encountering this person again is enough to never give them my business again.

Not recommended if you're sensitive to noise, a light sleeper, or like to sleep in. The soundproofing is very poor — you can hear all kinds of noises all day long, making it hard to get proper rest. Rooms are basic Japanese-style single rooms. The layout of each floor is a square surrounding the elevators and hallway. You can hear everything: doors opening and closing, people using the elevator, conversations — even at night. The door slams are especially loud and can wake you up from sleep. Footsteps from upstairs or next door are loud, but even worse is the morning cleaning. Vacuuming starts at 8:30 AM — impossible to ignore. My room was next to the staff room, so people were constantly coming in and out, chatting occasionally. It was extremely hard to rest. Avoid Room 15 on each floor if you can. Also, there's a major road just behind a small building next to the hotel. Even with windows shut, you can hear loud cars and motorbikes at night — typical Tokyo street racing noises. It goes on all night. Other guests coming and going at all hours also add to the noise. I couldn’t sleep until after 1 AM and got woken up again around 7 AM both days. Among all my trips to Japan, this was one of the worst hotel experiences. Location is okay. It’s not far from Akihabara, convenient if you're heading toward Ikebukuro or going to a concert at Budokan. But it’s a bit of a walk to the nearest JR station. Staff are average — not rude, but nothing special. Overall, if you value peace and sleep quality, do not choose this hotel. And if the price is high, it’s really not worth it.

The room at Belken Hotel Kanda is on the smaller side, but considering Tokyo's pricing, it’s perfectly adequate. There's enough space to comfortably open two medium-sized suitcases. The amenities are well-stocked, and you can easily grab anything you need from the hotel lobby, such as toothbrushes, razors, bath powder, cotton buds, and more. The staff is very attentive. When I encountered an issue with a clogged bathtub, they promptly arranged for cleaning, and it was resolved the following day. The hotel’s location is fantastic—close to subway stations and several convenience stores. A 7-Eleven is right across the street, and Lawson and Family Mart are just a short walk away. There's also a small supermarket nearby for additional convenience. One downside of the room was the mini fridge, which didn’t cool properly. Drinks didn’t get cold, and ice cream melted very quickly. Additionally, the room could benefit from better lighting, as it felt a bit dim. Overall, it’s a great choice for its location, amenities, and attentive service.

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel. We booked a double & a single room as there's 3 of us. It's a 10-storey high building. It's located in a quiet & peaceful neighbourhood. I really appreciate the hotel staff for arranging our rooms on the same floor and waiting for us to check in as our flights arrive at Haneda Airport at night. There's a 7-11 right in front of the hotel where i frequently visited. There's a small resting area with free coffee & amenities for you to take on the ground floor (labelled as 1st floor) beside the reception counter. There's 2 lifts in the hotel and access by room card only. The room card is also required to access the hotel main door past midnight. The laundry room is located on the 2nd floor. There's 2 middle sizes (3kg) 2 in 1 (wash & dry) coins washing machines for hotel guests. Each use requires 500 yens (can exchange coins at reception counter) & 120 minutes. It's fully occupied most of the time. There's a microwave & drink vending machine in the laundry room, too. All instructions are clearly written in English. Very user-friendly for foreigners. As for the room, it was very clean & comfortable. The hotel housekeeping is really tiptops. They will place pajamas, rubbish bag, bath towel & 2 bottles of mineral water vouchers daily in a plastic bag & place outside the door if you opt not to clean your room. The bed is ok, and the pillow is hard. Able to get a good night sleep. There's a middle size bathtub & a smart toilet bowl in the bathroom. The room aircond can be adjusted based on cool, heat, fan, and dry. There's also a mini fridge & an air purifier with a humidifier function (need to add water manually) in the room.Overall, it is a very comfortable stay....

I stayed here for my entire stay in Tokyo. 10 min walk to Kanda JR Station, 10 min walk to Akihabara JR Station or 20 min walk to Tokyo Station or 1 JR train station stop which will take you to so many places or shinkansen rides using your JR pass. The Kanda metro station is also just outside the hotel with connections to multiple subway lines including the Ginza line. It’s a business district so it’s quiet after 7 pm and on weekends. Most restaurants are locals in them including yudetaro - popular for cheap breakfast and late night soba noodles. 7-11 is just outside the hotel, welcia and family mart is just a few steps away. The staff is very accommodating, responds on emails and messages quickly and available 24/7. They also have a tourist guide at the reception for restaurant recommendations but they can call restaurants for you if you wish. The reception is also equipped with amenities such as loofa, bath salt, coffee, tea, cold/hot water, hair ties etc. Daily cleaning is also available. I woke up late on one of the days and saw fresh new towels and slippers outside my door. I stayed in 2 different rooms during my stay as the bigger room was booked during the first 3 days. Both rooms: twin room and superior twin room were spacious for 2 people. Though the superior twin room can accommodate more luggage space (2 pcs of 28” and 2 pcs of 20” luggages) opened at the same time. They also have a microwave, I believe on the 2nd floor and offers luggage storage as well. Beds and bathrooms were spacious enough for 2 people and bigger than other accommodations I stayed in the Japan. Also met a Filipino receptionist who’s super kind and friendly. Will...
