I came here because I saw the pancake thing on social media and wanted to try it. Pancake was a bit of a disappointment if I’m going to be honest. Not sure what I was expecting. I knew they weren’t soufflé pancakes. But it was the consistency of a bread/cake. It would have been a mediocre experience at best if I didn’t order a hot milk tea with their Paris black tea blend and WOWWWW!! Delicious!! I asked them to not add any extra sugar to it but the cream they put in the drink is slightly sweet, slightly cold and similar but denser than American whipped cream and having that was a transcendent experience. They have a 'tea free' menu plan that allows you to try many samples of hot tea. You can't pick which tea except the last one, but the time is unlimited and the staff comes by and pours you a new tea every 10 minutes or so. The souffle pancakes come with a variety of sauces. 車椅子や「シルバーカ―」を利用するかたには立ち寄りにくい構造の喫茶店です。 茶葉が陳列棚にぎっしり置かれており、落とさないかドキドキします。 フードメニューも少ないため、塩気あるものをしっかり食べたいかたは別のカフェや定食屋さんへいきましょう。 Flavored teaを安価に楽しむには良い場所かなと思います。 気取った雰囲気もなく、気軽に入店できるお店だと思います。コロナやインフル感染を気にしない時期なら、ゆっくり友人や親戚とおしゃべりが出来るかも。

お店全体に言えるのが、ウエールズやイングランドの観光ガイドブックで紹介文が少ない街にありそうな……素朴な内装と食器類です。

店員さんは適度な距離感でいいです。スタバのような微妙な親密感をかもしださない点がいいです。 （ただ注ぐ度に、店員さんの殆どが紅茶名を明確に言って下さらないから、購入希望でメモりたいかたは2度、3度聞き直すことになります)

普段はマリア―ジュやLADURÉE、リーフルなどで薫りがある紅茶を購入します。基本的にはflavored teaより香りがついていない普通の茶葉が好みです。

こちらのflavored teaは他のブランドと比較しても、強烈な香りを茶葉に添加しているように感じました。 それも多種にわたる香りが狭い店内に多数置いてあります。匂い過敏のかたにはお勧めしません。

1時間半ほど居たら、気持ち悪くなってしまいました。 マリア―ジュやLADURÉEで気分が悪くなったことはないので本当の原因が何かは不明です。 恐らくたとえ自然由来であっても香りが強い茶葉を毎時間、何度もポットに抽出すれば来客は気持ち悪くなるかもしれません。

自分はアロマセラピストをしていたとき、100種類以上の香りを扱いました。常に換気をよくしないといけないため、保管と使用には気をつけていました。 (例のボディソープや固形石鹸を販売するL○○○へ入った時の吐き気と頭痛に似ている…)
