I recently stayed at The Kitano Hotel in Tokyo and had a wonderful experience overall. Nestled in the heart of Chiyoda City, the hotel’s location is ideal for exploring some of the city's most famous sights, including the beautiful Imperial Palace Gardens, which are just a short walk away. The contemporary design of the hotel, featuring elegant interiors and noble materials, truly reflects modern Japanese hospitality.
The serene atmosphere throughout the hotel made for a relaxing stay, and I appreciated the natural light that filled our room, which was tastefully decorated with cherry wood furniture. The wellness center was a fantastic place to unwind, blending Chinese and Western traditions for a truly rejuvenating experience.
One highlight was the rooftop bar with its stunning panoramic views of Tokyo’s skyline, perfect for enjoying a cocktail after a day of sightseeing. The restaurant, L’Orangerie Koh-an, also offered a delightful dining experience with traditional Japanese cuisine.
However, I am giving The Kitano Hotel a 4 out of 5 stars because the room did not quite meet my expectations for luxury. The beds were quite firm, which I understand is typical in Japan, but I personally prefer a softer mattress in a luxury hotel setting. On a positive note, I appreciated the complimentary drinks in the mini bar and the extra pillows provided upon request.
Overall, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was inviting. I would recommend The Kitano Hotel for anyone looking to experience a blend of contemporary comfort and traditional Japanese hospitality in the...

They were incredibly kind, helpful, over the top attentive. Our flight was delayed by 5.5hrs to go home and they arranged for an extension for our room (at a reasonable fee), helped us with taxis and every day, checked to make sure our stay was top notch
Its a 30 second walk from a station that connects to 5 lines. Its also a 10 min cab ride to many other areas like Shibuya or Roppangi hills. There are two convenience stores within a min walk which is helpful for snacks and food as the stores have high quality food. Lastly a coffee shop within a 30 second walk for breakfast.
Cannot speak highly enough about the rooms. They are big, spacious, and very nice. We had two twin beds room (but the beds are like a double to queen size). Separate closet AND a separate closed off area for luggage so you don't occupy space in the living room (great if you have kids).
Complimentary mini bar, nespresso machine and the hotel has two restaurants, one a michellin star spanish one.
We come to Tokyo every two years and always stay at the Westin Ebisu. I will no longer be doing that, even as a platinum member. Service, location and quality of rooms here makes this my new go to.
One tip - when booking, either call them or book on their website. Cheaper than booking.com or third...
Read moreThis is a very quiet, luxurious hotel in what I would describe as the "government" area of Tokyo. The room was large and well-appointed, good linens too. The bathroom was very nice as well. ||I did not eat in the tea shop, but did eat at both of the sit-down restaurants, which were excellent. Sushi Ohmi was my favorite of the two, and I also thought it was a very good price for a high-end omasake meal in Tokyo. ||The hotel is incredibly convenient to the Hanzomon line, there's a station entrance less than a block away. While this line will not get you everywhere in Tokyo on its own, you can get anywhere by taking it. There's also an entrance to the Marunouchi line a couple blocks from the hotel, which can be more convenient to take depending on your destination. ||The area immediately around the hotel seemed to be mostly offices, with a sprinkling of restaurants. It was very quiet at night, although you could easily walk to much livelier streets. There is a 7-11 next door to the hotel that seemed to be open pretty late. ||The staff were very attentive, and all of the front desk staff I interacted with spoke good English. Forwarding my luggage to my hotel in Kyoto was very easy. ||All in all, I am really glad I stayed here; it was a perfect home base for this segment of my trip. While it is not cheap, I felt it was worth...
