The Tokyo Disney Fantasy Springs hotel is a beautiful, large hotel adjacent to the Tokyo Disney Sea park. We stayed for two nights as part of a vacation package in an alcove room with a Rose Court view. The rooms are spacious (for Japan) and similar in size and layout to the ones at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. The room comes with great amenities for four (including adult pajamas and cooling patches for tired legs/back, etc.). Kids pajamas were available for "rent" (no fee) in the evening from the baggage storage desk. The beds were a little on the firmer side and the pillows were flatter than I'm used to but not uncomfortable. For me, the best part of the bed was the the comforter -it was so fluffy and snuggly! Perfect after a long day at the parks. Our daughter loved sleeping on the alcove bed. The room didn't come with extra pillows for the alcove bed although I'm sure we could have asked for more. You're able to order room service, luggage service, and other services from the TV. Helpful, especially if you're hesitant about communicating with someone over the phone. ||The front of house staff was very polite, friendly, and helpful. All spoke a decent amount of English and for the more specific conversations (e.g. getting a taxi), they had a translator app. ||The hotel has a convenience store that sells merchandise as well as food, snacks, and drinks. Good variety of food although it does get crowded (especially at night as everyone is returning from the parks). The hotel itself doesn't have a gift shop. The gift shop for Fantasy Springs is located under the Grand Chateau section of the hotel and must be entered from the park. ||We ate breakfast twice at the buffet restaurant. The first morning we arrived right at our reservation time (7:40am) and waited in line for about 10 minutes before being seated. The wait wasn't as long on our second morning but that could be because our reservation time was later (8:10am). The buffet options were the same both days and we found it to be a good variety for both food and beverage options. They have a cart that comes around with fresh croissants - so delicious!! We sat in both the very last dining room and one of the first ones. We deduced that the wait upon arrival is to stagger the guests so that the buffet line area doesn't get too crowded. ||We had Happy Entry to Tokyo Disney Sea on both days that we were at the hotel and accessed the park through the special Fantasy Springs entrance. The 7:40am breakfast time was perfect to be able to get food, eat, and then line up for the 8:45am early entry. With the 8:10am breakfast time, we were able to eat and get to the park gate with a few minutes to spare before the 9am park opening. We walked right through as there wasn't a line. Both days we were able to get in early enough to ride the Tinkerbell ride (walk on, no wait before 9am) and the Peter Pan ride (short wait as they held people in the queu until 9am). A lot of the Happy Entry guests seemed to head straight to the Rapunzel or Frozen rides. Our vacation package came with Priority Passes for those rides so we used the early morning time to ride others with minimal to no wait in the lands nearby. ||Access to the hotel is limited to hotel guests. We stayed at the Toy Story hotel the night before and when we arrived, we needed to show the cast member our confirmation email. She found us on a list and then let us proceed to the elevator (or stairs) to access the hotel. Upon check-in we were given slips of paper in small plastic folders (you get one per person) that we had to show as proof of staying at the hotel. They asked to see these when exiting the park through the Fantasy Springs gates and again before accessing the elevator/stairs to get to the hotel lobby. You also need to show them when entering the Happy Entry line in the morning. ||We stayed in room 7204. Upon exiting the elevator bank, the hallway straight ahead are rooms in the 300s. The hallway to the right are rooms in the 100s and to the left are rooms in the 200s. We initially missed the sign for the 200s and wandered around for a little bit confused. ||We would definitely stay here again, but mostly for...
Read moreThis hotel is a mixed bag, especially coming from the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. If your top priority is getting on the Fantasy Springs rides, it definitely gives you that. If you can get in line an hour ahead of time, you’ll be able to do 2 of the Fantasy Springs rides before non-hotel guests can speed walk from the front of DisneySea. That’s 100% the reason to book here and if you have a little kid who loves Rapunzel, Peter Pan or Frozen, you’ll be happy you did. That said, especially after a rainy day, the Fantasy Springs rides can get short lines at the end of the day, making it not necessary to have been there. We ironically had waited for the Rapunzel ride for a long time on 2 different occasions only to walk by out last night and see the ride down to a 20 minute wait. I think anyone is really better off just staying at the Tokyo Disneyland hotel and then paying to get the priority access for the FS rides or just waiting in line like we did a couple times. Also, the FS rides fell short of the beauty and the beast ride from Tokyo Disneyland. We’d done that last year after getting our girls into the movie and it really delivered an experience for them. The Rapunzel ride is just too short, although our daughter loved it, as it’s been her favorite movie recently. Even as a Tangled fan, she said she liked the Frozen ride more. So, this hotel is strange. They act as if there is a famous politician on the premises at all times as they’ll basically tackle you as you approach the hotel each time, asking you to prove that you’re staying there. It’s very weird and ultimately made the experience feel much less luxury. Like we weren’t guests, but “renters” of a cheap apartment or something. The checkin took a very, very long time to get our keys, suitcases (which were transferred) and our park tickets. It felt like it took way too long. The hotel itself feels sparse and under-decorated. Lots of blank walls and wide open space with nothing there. It feels stark and less magical than Tokyo Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Floridian and Yacht Club at Disney World. The room itself (a basic one and the only one we could possibly book while clicking at the exact second they became available) had some elegant Rapunzel touches throughout and one random nod to Princess and the Frog. It was strange that it didn’t cover one movie as a theme, or many more than 2 — it just seemed random. Getting a reservation at the restaurant was impossible, but we scored a dinner our last night at 8:40PM (again the only thing we could find while booking the second anything was even bookable) and fortunately the food was fantastic — probably our best meal at Tokyo Disneyland between both parks. The final thing to note is that they bully you into getting back to the hotel at 8:59 PM. They completely close off the entrance to the hotel after that so they even if you are walking back from a ride, you will be told to walk all the way to the front of the park (over a mile), take the monorail (which costs $2 per person one-way) to the hotel and then go to the hotel. This, to us, was an insane move for the parks. It makes the hotel feel less like a luxury hotel and more like a dorm with a curfew and an authority figure to report to. Overall… stay at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel! It’s easier to get a reservation, easier access, friendlier environment, better themed rooms and ultimately just a more “Disney” experience. The Fantasy Springs Hotel fails to bring the magic that we know and love from our visits to parks all...
Read moreWe were lucky to secure a last minute cancellation at this new hotel! And it turned out to be a wonderful decision to switch our original booking from Disneyland hotel. Our stay was magical and exceeded our expectation of a Disney hotel. It was a perfect hotel for our little girl.
Fantasy Spring hotel had more elements of Rapunzel, with lesser extent Peter Pan. Though there was no sign of Frozen, which was a bit disappointing for kids. The hotel premises were beautiful, with a classy decor. Contrary to some reviews, we found the design to be far from plain. The centerpiece of the hotel was the Grand Paradis lounge at the entrance, a space that was so charming, even from the exterior. Unfortunately, given its popularity, it was nearly impossible to secure a reservation now. There was a small convenience store within the hotel. And next to check in was a TV area for kids, which was thoughtful.
Rooms were spacious for Japan, comfortably sized, with a more modern look compared to other Disney hotels. We particularly love the enchanted ‘fairytale’ couch. Our young one being a fan of Rapunzel, was so excited with the Rapunzel drawings subtly incorporated into the decor, and crafted into the bed head. The breakfast area was divided into several beautiful rooms, one of which feature a grand high ceiling. Food was tasty and replenished right up until closing time.
Although there was a separation between Grand Chateau (akin to club rooms level) and Fantasy Chateau, we were staying here for only 1 night and it didn’t bother us. The exclusive entrance for Fantasy Chateau guests was huge, and it seems like DisneySea may have future plans for this entrance. Most guests were early. Despite arriving 15 mins before start of early entry, we were still at the back of the queue. But we were in Fantasy Springs within minutes of park opening, and got to meet Snow White.
We left our Luggages at the bell desk before check in and after check out. Long queue was expected for luggages collection after the park closed but staff were friendly. The Believe show ended at 8:45pm when we were there, while the Fantasy Spring announced that entrance closes at 9pm. However, it was impossible to make it back to Fantasy Spring within 15mins, esp with the crowded. But not to worry, they still allow hotel guests to enter fantasy spring area after 9pm. So take your time to enjoy a leisurely stroll back after the...
