Situated in a field, you can take a soak in the hot springs while enjoying the clean air outside. The room is well appointed and had plenty of room. There is a fridge, microwave and some disposible eating utensils in the room for those who want to eat some quick snacks. There are also plenty of eateries just in Yufuin (to eat out or have take away ordered). You will need to lay out your own Japanese style bed (on the floor) but this was pretty fun, so we didn't mind. Its around 20 minutes walk from the station, and the surroundings are really quiet and cozy and the private onsen is the best to relax. There's free sake in the fridge. The rooms were large and the AC is working well. The foreign worker was very nice to us and got us a cab to go back to the station to look around. However, the grey haired karen bob lady was unacceptably rude when we called her if she can call us a cab back to the ryokan and it was the first time I ever heard such impolite words in Japan.
