There is really no advantage except that it is close to the entrance of the scenic spot. I took the Jett bus from Amman to Petra and arrived at 10 o'clock in the morning. Although there were not many tourists, they still insisted on checking in at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. It was 40 degrees outside, and they insisted on turning on the air conditioner after checking in at 3 o'clock. The air conditioner remote control was in the hands of the staff, and it was very hot! I don't know why they save electricity for this little air conditioner.
Furthermore, the facilities are very simple. There are no bath towels provided, no quilts on the beds (they said they were not needed in the hot weather), and even no water. If you want to buy water, it costs 1JD per bottle. I have other friends who stayed in other hostels in Petra all provided water as a very basic need.
When I checked in, I learned that the bus to the desert was at 5pm, so I wanted to change from two nights to one night, but the staff firmly refused, which was very inflexible. Then when I checked into the room, I was carrying a large backpack and a small backpack, and the front desk staff asked me to take off my shoes to enter the room. I was very embarrassed because I had too many things. I asked him if it had to be now? He answered me very unfriendly, "Now!"
There was no blanket on the first night, and the air conditioner was so cold that I woke up at night, so I asked the boss for a blanket the next day afternoon when I came back from the scenic spot, and then they turned off the air conditioner in the room! You know, it's very hot outside at 40 degrees! I asked them why it was hot now after turning off the air conditioner, and they asked me: You just said it was cold and now you say it's hot, what do you want? Oh my God, can you please ask a staff member who speaks good English if your English is not good enough?
On the first day of my stay, I told them that I wanted breakfast, lunch and dinner. The next morning, when I went to the scenic area and asked for a lunch box, they didn't prepare it. They spent a few minutes to give me two pieces of bread, a cucumber, a tomato, an egg, a bottle of juice and water. When I came back at night, the front desk staff argued that I didn't tell him that I wanted a lunch box before and asked me to pay more. Please, can you please hire someone who is good at English? It saves tourists a lot of trouble. My mood was greatly affected!
There are many other rules here, such as not coming back later than 12pm, taking a shower no later than 11pm, using a hair dryer no later than 10:30pm, and not washing clothes and shoes in the bathroom, otherwise you will be fined 20JD. It's really hard to understand. Such a hostel is really the worst I have ever seen. I will not recommend anyone to come to this hostel. Also, the sheets and...
Read moreI don't know from where should I start my amazing experience but I'll try. The first day I arrived I met Sharif who was smiling all the time and welcomed me to Jordan and their hostel, he even was kindly enough to tell me about the Jordanian traditions and how it differs. I want to be fare about this the whole experience was OVER 5* hotel. The hostel is clean, new furnitures, super amazing view, very tasty food, wow stuff and owners. The owners everyday come to check about all and to communicate with their guests (they said we don't have clients we have guests) and I very much liked something Hamza (Owner) said that " You come as a stranger and you leave us as a friend", How lovely! They offer mouthwatering breakfast and dinner the prices are cheap, the food is clean and very tasty. Even they sell snacks cheaper than the prices in supermarkets around. The Cabins are clean and comfortable I wasn't expecting it that much but literally WOW! They offer laundry service as well for a fare fee, FREE towels+FREE WiFi also. The hostel just nearby the entrance and it's around shops & cafés. Also, they offer Turkish bath which is very nice & cozy. I very much appreciate everything you did for me guys and definitely it's not the last time to visit you, you became a family now.
Last but not least I VERY MUCH RECOMMEND THIS HOSTEL FOR YOU, Trust me you'll live a unique experience and unbelievable one.
Thanks for everything...
Read moreThe hostel administration treats guests as one-day tourists whom they will never see again. They scammed us with the "massage" service. We were told that for 25 jod/person we would be given all the necessary things such as towels, flip-flops etc and that we would have spa procedures, tea and massage for 1 hour. However, when we paid and were brought to this "spa" it looked more like a brothel. There were almost naked girls-employees standing outside, changing rooms were mixed for women and men, man-employees were entering there back and forth. They gave us some used underwear and towels. We had been sitting in a hammam for 5 min when a boy-employee came with a bucket full of water and poured it on us without any words. He told us to go out, made us massage for a few minutes (my boyfriend had bruises after it) and put us out. All the process from the entrance to exit took around 25 min!! I complained about it to two hostel employees but no adequate reaction was gotten, they just mumbled something like "oh what a shame, we'll talk to the spa". Wasted 50 jod and ruined the day! P.S. Just look to their answer to people who write bad reviews: "Go to the trash, you garbage." If you do not want to be scammed and humiliated, never book this hostel! You spend so much money to visit a beautiful Petra, so better spend some more money and book a decent room with respectful...
