Edom Hotel — Hotel in Maan

Best to avoid this place if you are expecting a 3-star quality stay.

We stayed in this hotel for two days with 24 girls, and we had the worst experience ever: We could only stay in the hotel if we bought tickets for the New Years Gala Dinner (40$ excl. drinks), which they only communicated way after our reservation (a couple of days before Christmas/our arrival to Jordan). Since we were traveling with a group, we were not that flexible in changing plans or making a reservation for another hotel, so we had no other choice than buying the tickets. This wasn't a big deal if everything went fine afterwards. However, the evening was terrible! To cut things short: overbooked diner, too little/no food, staff selling nonalcoholic beverages as alcoholic beverages (for the same price) and after confrontation they lied about it, and loud party music during the dinner.

For the other days: Empty trays during dinner buffet and if there was food, it was cold and/or not tasty. Out of breakfast although we came in early. Incompetent and rude staff, poor in dealing with customers (and complaints or requests). Noisy rooms. We could literally overhear people's conversations in other rooms. Elevator not working most of the time. Before we decided to not use the elevator anymore, even when it was "working", we got stuck in it twice. They charged 5$ for 24h WiFi.

The only thing the hotel has to offer is the proximity to the Petra site entrance, which is a 5...

We stayed here for 3 nights to visit petra and participate in a cooking class in the hotel rooms you have everything you need (fridge, bathroom..) -you can reach petra visitor center in 3 minutes walking distance (200m) -the hotel staff is one of the most friendly I‘ve ever experienced!! (especially the restaurant staff) according to food: for breakfast you have a variety of traditional food, but also cereals, tea etc. (10/10) for dinner I first wanted to eat outside, because I wanted to experience traditional food „not just hotel food“ - the second night we had dinner at the hotel and it was better than I expected - in fact it was one of the best food expericenes I‘ve had in jordan. For 12 JOD you get to eat a delicious jordan buffet (you always have vegetarian options) - compliment again to the restaurant staff - waiter, manager, chef - you were all so friendly and did a great job. You earn the 4 stars!! all in all the price-performance-ratio is more than good, I would recommed to have dinner at the hotel!! I had a wonderful stay at Edom Hotel in Petra — a lovely, clean, and comfortable hotel that truly exceeded my expectations.|From the moment we arrived (about 4 hours before check-in), the staff were incredibly hospitable and accommodating, offering to store our luggage so we could start exploring right away.
