I have eaten at "The View" many times. I have celebrated anniversaries there, birthdays, and just romantic dates as well. As the name suggests, you cannot really beat the novelty of the revolving restaurant with huge windows at 360 degrees. Amazing. Spectacular scenery for certain. It's a classy well decorated place with great ambiance. It is a great place to celebrate or to impress a date. But, if you are at all concerned about spending and budget..... Not the place for you. Very expensive and not really worth the menu prices for the quality of the food or the portions. I always need to eat after I leave the place. Never satisfied with portions. The service is mediocre at best. The table service and the kitchen service. Extremely slow this last time. Painfully slow.
OH..... Entering the building...... Foolishness. The only event where security is tighter would royal visit. I This place thinks it's the airport. Such a stupid nuiscance. Frustrates me every single time. So I start out annoyed.
Bottom Line: 1.Classy place for a night out and date. You'll impress and make her happy. Nice unique place to celebrate a special occasion. You will pay. Party of 4.....250-400 USD depending on beverages. You'll not be thrilled by portion size and the tastes are...
Read moreHad a wonderful dining experience at The View Restaurant — easily one of the most scenic spots in the city. The panoramic views alone make it special, but the food and service take it even higher.
We tried the Beef Rossini (Kenyan Inspired), Chicken Milanese, a pasta dish and their platter — and every dish was beautifully presented and well balanced in flavor. The Rossini stood out with its rich, layered taste of tender beef, creamy mushroom sauce, and a hint of chicken liver that gave it real depth. The Chicken Milanese was light, crisp, and perfectly complemented by the vegetable ratatouille and herb jus — ideal for those who prefer something delicate but satisfying. Their signature platter rounded everything off with a comforting, homely touch.
The staff were warm, attentive, and professional throughout — genuinely adding to the experience rather than rushing it. Combined with the rotating view and calm evening breeze, it made for a truly memorable dinner.
✨ Highly recommend for special evenings, quiet celebrations, or when you just want a beautiful place to unwind with good food and even...
Read moreThe place has everything to get five stars... and misses out on two due to things you should avoid at this level. The restaurant is a revolving restaurant on the top floor of the Moewenpick hotel at Westlands. We made a reservation one day ahead... and waited for the confirmation. Since we did not receive it, we called the next day and were told it should come soon ... well, eventually, it came in 20 minutes before the reservation time. Funny enough, the restaurant was 80% empty. The personal was very friendly but it came to several glitches that are ok in a street cafe but not in this type of restaurant. We ordered a gazpacho to share as a starter. It came ... without spoons. Well good, it was gazpacho ... We had also ordered wine with the main course ... it came almost at the end of the steak. The fun moment was when the restaurant called us to ask if we would come because they had to give the table if not ... seriously ? The food was ok but not outstanding - the view is...
