Hotel Pils — Hotel in Sigulda

My visit in June was the third time I had stayed in Hotel Pils. On this occasion the standard of service provided by the chambermaid was not acceptable. She did not made up the bed for the second night of my visit.||Ignoring the chambermaid's failure in her duties, the room was of a good standard as was the en suite shower room.||Breakfast was reasonable but could be improved with little more variety of food on offer.||The evening meal we had on the second night was good and the restaurant staff are efficient and friendly.||The reception staff, likewise, were efficient and helpful.||The hotel has an adjoining car park.||The hotel deserves a higher rating but it is unfortunate that one member of staff can damage...

Decent prices for a great location, very central very close to the train/bus station! Fast and easy self-check-in and the staff were very accommodating, allowing me to check in earlier when the room was ready when I contacted them in advance! The room is quite well equipped, having a mini fridge, kettle and some cups and tea, as well as plates and cutlery conveniently enough! Also comes with shampoo/bodywash :)) I could really use a bedside table though… The place might have been a bit dusty, not visibly but I had a bit of an allergic reaction, though not bad. Generally a good and recommended place for a stay...

Sigulda ist ein wunderhübsches Städtchen mit zauberhafter Umgebung. Das Hotel ist im historischen Zentrum des Hauptortsteils und nur wenig entfernt von Post, Bahnhof, Einkaufs- und gastronomischen Möglichkeiten gelegen ist. Dennoch fühlt man sich in dem kleinen, sehr proper geführten Drei-Sterne-Hotel in der Tat wie in einem kleinen Schlösschen ("Pils" heißt Schloss oder Burg, bezieht sich aber hier auf die Pils iela = Schlossstraße), zumal die öffentlich zugänglichen Bereiche mit allerlei historischen Accessoires aus historischer Zeit drapiert sind. Hingegen sind die Zimmer – wir residierten im behaglichen Turmzimmer – modern und freundlich, sauber und hell eingerichtet. Und zumal für den Übernachtungspreis fanden wir uns mehr als ersprießlich untergebracht. Alles ist sehr sauber und macht einen gepflegten Eindruck. Im Zimmer ist eine gute Klimaanlage vorhanden. Ein Parkplatz befindet sich neben dem Hotel. Ein öffentlicher Internetzgang allerdings ist leider nicht möglich. Es wird auch das Frühstück geboten, das sich zwar mit der Vielfalt eines Frühstücksbüffets in den großen, mehr-sternigen Häusern nicht messen will, doch bei dem von Müsli und Yogurt über Käse und Wurst bis zur Marmelade und Ei alles geboten wird, was das Prädikat „gut und ausreichend“ rechtfertigt.
