We came at 5.10pm to buy ticket. The sign showed next departure was at 5.30pm. We initially wanted to get a 30mins ride for RM12 however he convinced us that it was more worth to get 1h ride at RM19. We paid and went to eat nearby. We came back to the stall at 5.28pm. He told us to sit around first. We waited just outside the stall. When we checked back again at 5.38pm he told us that the next ride was at 6pm. When I asked did we miss a ride he said yes but wait for 6pm anyway got sunset more worth because it’s prettier. It was a little stressful at this point because we had a flight to catch at 9pm which he was aware of. The boat came at 6.10pm and lasted for about 50mins only. All in all the views were decent and ride relaxing however only book this if you have time to spare. Also they don’t provide a receipt so just be nearby and aware. 2 stars only because the waiting time in the hot sun was so long and was given mixed answers about the timing.

📌Sarawak River Boating Since time in memorial, boating across the Sarawak River has been a main means of crossing the river for locals to reach the hustle and bustle of Kuching town; and only for the smallest fee imaginable, Rm1/person! Till this very day, despite Jambatan Darul Hana being recently built, working adults and students still commute across using the traditional boats. The boat ride makes for a very serene experience. As you ride on the boat, you could picture how in the previous centuries the 'rakyat' commuted through boats like these for their very sustenance. I suggest giving more than Rm1/person when your ride ends. These boatmen have been doing this for years. Give them a tip and be generous! 😇

The Sarawak traditional boat cruise is a smaller version of the Sarawak River Cruise. This one, you get into a much smaller boat and they take you up the river to see some of the old Sarawak buildings and forts. Price is much cheaper than the main cruise and the time is about 50-60 minutes. It's a fun experience if you have the time to kill, and yes, there's no crocodiles in the water. For the price, it's really worth it if you ask me, and please do it on a clear day so you can take some really nice photos. For tickets, you can just buy it from the boat operator who is at the jetty where the cruise departs.
