We stayed a night at this hotel. 10mins walk to the south where the market and street food is. Room is relatively clean and shower was pretty strong, a little too strong for the drainage though which made it a wee bit disgusting. Shower stall was barely large enough and had only a small soap dish for our toiletries. Towels were decent enough and the provided toiletries all only one set of comb, cotton buds, toothpaste and toothbrush, expecting guests to share?|We were in a non smoking room but the toilet had the stink of cigarette smoke. |The bed was relatively clean and clean he air conditioning strong and cold although with a slight smell. Room only had 2 power outlets, one beside the bed and the other at the dresser. Both 3pin standard UK plugs.|Power tripped 3 times during our one night stay although restored within seconds. Probably from the renovation works which they had signs up advising guests.|There’s a convenience store a few steps away for the midnight snacks and drinks as the in-room fridge is only that. No mini-bar. Our mini fridge is great for making everything into ice cream though. Coke, Milo all turned into ice within an hour.|The provided breakfast is at Wangi Chicken Rice restaurant opposite to the hotel entrance. Skip it though. Coffee and tea both tasted like bad dish water, the breakfast was cold and horrid. You can make your own toasts though which is as good as you make toasts yourself but the butter and jam/jelly was quite terrible too.|There are slightly better restaurants nearby. Maju Bistro to the west and Nafeesa Beriyani to the south both within 5mins walk and both serving Indian food. Nafeesa had the nicest beriyani with the fluffiest rice and service was great too. Slightly more expensive compared to Maju. Would recommend you take the 10 mins walk south right opposite the seafront for street food stalls which was...
Read moreThe stay was a decent and okay experience overall. Though I enjoyed it, I would like to remind the staffs at the hotel to ensure the cleanliness of the room’s toilet to be the highest concern. I could see dirty dust and ashes of a cigarette in the sink and the smell was definitely there. Also, the bed sheet stink. I could smell the likeliness of a body odour on the bed which was totally very unpleasant. Please be reminded that the hotel is located at the city centre, so the noise would probably become another concern, you could hear sirens, honks, shouts from the streets etc. On the bright side, everything is just within walking distant, even 24H restaurants. I wasn’t looking for the best experience like I would usually do when I go travelling as I was only staying for a night due to an urgent business. I booked at the last minute just for a transit, so I cannot say I did not enjoy the experience, it was better than staying out in the streets. Heritage hotel provides cheaper option too, so everyone can save up a little. Anyway, I can recommend you to stay here, but of course, like anywhere else in the world, you could find better option with similar price or cheaper, better experience, get you fully satisfied and all, but that’s probably unlikely in Tawau during an urgent time. So,...

Shrimps and simple red snapper delicious; the rest of the menu quite expensive. Impressive basins with live fish.||NO curry restaurant in the Jalan Bunga of the hotel, but Yassin Curry House a few minutes walk tot the South: wih perfect Roti and Squid.||We had a relaxed walk in the early morning to the big Masjid Alkhautar in the East, then along the seaside (Jalan Persisiran) ,covered by some trees, to the west side to visit near the Port the lively Sea Food Market (not the seafood stalls) and the Pasar Tanjung Kling (high building with UTC characters on top), passed the busstation and entered the Serway Mall (an old fashioned supermarket) for a...
