JK Capsule Hostel — Hotel in Borneo

Extremely satisfied with our stay for which we paid less than RM 100.00 each for 4D3N! The reception area is well-lit and cozy. The owner Edward and his staff are very friendly accommodating; shout out to Angel who can speak fluent Tagalog/Filipino. Edward and Sebi likes to chat with the guests; they are very informative; you can ask them anything about KK, maybe even make your KK itinerary.

Guests can get unlimited slices of bread (with your choice of spread), watch on the Smart TV, do the laundry, mix and drink coffee. WiFi is pretty fast and stable for both floors. The capsule rooms/beds are new to us, so sleeping inside them are very exciting (you can customize the lighting and airconditioning inside). The washrooms are well-maintained.

AOI: While the capsule bed looks techy, it was a bit surprising to find out a capsule key card could open another capsule bed. I guess the capsule key card is used to make sure only guests who have them can open the capsule beds. Nonetheless, each guest is assigned a locker so it's best to keep your valuables inside the lockers before exploring KK.

I stayed here for 2 nights before climbing Mt Kinabalu and loved it so much that I came back afterwards and stayed for another 3 (to recover)! I first arrived at 2am and Angel stayed up to meet me as it can be a little tricky to find at first. The whole team at the hostel are awesome! So friendly and can't do enough to help you - be it finding somewhere for dinner, helping book accommodation at your next destination or finding you the best tour prices. They even took me out one evening to celebrate the Harvest Festival with them - thanks so much guys! The capsules are really cool! They are very spacious and have lots of gadgets inside (usb charging points, colour-changing mood lighting to name a few), a proper duvet and a towel. It was really nice to have my own privacy for a few nights. The showers are hot and powerful too. Finally, I found the location very convenient, right next to the Imago mall, so I was able to stock up on some essentials before the climb. I absolutely loved my stay here - it honestly felt like a home away from home. Keep doing great JK...

Fantastic place to stay. The sleep pods are great, very roomy with seperate lighting, USB charging and plenty of space to store your Kindle, a bottle of water etc. The facilities are immaculate, several toilets and showers all of which were spotless and very roomy. The communal area is spacious and comfy with use of a TV and PS4. There is also a washing machine and dryer all of which comes at no additional cost. We stayed in one of the two private rooms which had just the two single bed sized pods aswell as a nice sized area for keeping our bags and stuff with us.
