location is good...right next to the newest and most happening (imago mall) mall in kk, which opens 10am onwards for food, shopping, movies and groceries. kkia airport, filipino market and jesselton point (to go to islands) is just within a few kilometres away south/north.
7-11 and another 24hr shop, a good massage place is just behind this hotel near restoran Anak Mami, which serves really inconsistent maggi mee goreng...1 plate too salty, another plate not enough taste, another plate too spicy... (?!?!?)
price of hotel is very reasonable too. i would have taken the family room for rm180 per night (1king+1single bed) if it was available but unfortunately it was fully booked.
so i took the next best option, executive king room for rm165 per night. the corner room was a good size. had a sofa & coffee table which was convenient. a tv with a few english/movie channels, a hairdryer, a small coffeemaking counter, a cupboard to hang a few clothes and shelves to put things and toilet with a bathtub which is beginning to rust. it's a bit difficult getting into & out of the bathtub because the edge is so wide.
even though the toilet is not small, the design is not good. the toilet seat is almost right against the wall on the left and right next to the sink on the right. so cramped.
cleaning crew changed towels daily and replenish toiletries.
all in all an ok place to stay if just looking for...
Read moreStayed at KK Times Square Hotel for one night and honestly, it was a disappointing experience. The location is great – right near Imago Mall and surrounded by restaurants. Check-in was fast, staff were friendly, and the deposit was only RM50.
But the room was not in good condition for the price (RM175+). It looked old and poorly maintained. Walls had old stains, the bathroom wasn’t very clean, and some fittings were broken (shower door damaged, cracked sink, and stains inside the toilet bowl). Towels and bedsheets didn’t feel fresh, and I also expected a bathtub because the booking photos showed one, but my deluxe king room didn’t have it.
There was no hair dryer, no WiFi info provided, and the mini fridge was hidden in the cabinet. I stayed on the 5th floor – at night, you can hear airplanes passing by. The layout was also inconvenient: the lobby and hotel rooms are in different areas, so after check-in, you need to go out, use stairs, and then a very small lift.
What made it worse for me was the comfort level – after showering, my skin started to feel itchy, and even during sleep, I kept scratching. It really didn’t feel hygienic, so I suspect the mattress or bedding needs better cleaning.
The only good points were the location and friendly staff, but for this price, I think there are much better options in KK. Would I stay here again?...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for 3 days and 2 nights. The room was comfortable and have clean facilities. The hotel is conveniently close to Imago, which has many restaurants and stores nearby. They even have paid parking, which is great because it saves you the hassle of finding parking in the busy area. This is a big advantage because the area around the hotel and Imago can get quite crowded. The parking charge for a day is RM15.
However, on my first night at the hotel, at 3 am, I woke up because the customers next to the room were quite noisy and laughing causing us to be disturbed. The use of bells at that time was also quite inappropriate because we thought people were ringing our bells and because of that we had to get up and check our door. It would be nice if the hotel could set some rules to keep noise levels down after 10 pm.
Also, the air conditioner in our room made a lot of noise. It probably needs some fixing or maintenance.
Overall, it's a decent place to stay for its convenience, and comfort especially if you plan to do some shopping at Imago and the...
