Today, Thursday, 10th April 2025 is our 1st day to Kota Kinabalu and my aunty booked this hotel as she read can see sunset.
We encountered hell of a problem firstly this company asked my aunty to pay some money to secure the booking so she did. Then today just before we check in they texted her and asked her to transfer rm200 as deposit and the monies will only be returned after 5 days! Not only that they again texted us and said we need to take video of the room and send to them otherwise they have the right to forfeit our deposit later!
In the booking it says Sunset Seaview so we wazed to this place, then after much phone calls etc they told us we should go tower c of Sutera Avenue, all in we wasted like an hour go here and there. We were so frustrated as to how to collect the access cards etc. It’s really a bad experience for us and if can please stay away from arranging your stay as the arrangements are messy. Must do a lot of steps, look at the booking and there are 4 pcs of cards. Never stayed in such place also what if we don’t have any extra monies for them to keep for another 5 days? What if we are foreigners and leaving the country, how are they going to reimburse the monies paid as deposit to people, this home stay may have bad encounter with some guests but making so many rules are utterly unreasonable and not providing accurate information.
If we knew they asked for RM200 as deposit and will only return after 5 days we won’t want to book here! Also didn’t put in the booking properly that we should go to Sutera Avenue and not Sunset Seaview!
I hope we won’t encounter problem checking out! This kind of apartment is meant for own stay and not for investment to let out as it’s really not conducive for guests to stay.
Also their wifi is like not working well, lagging but air cond is good.
Our car is parked on B2 the lowest floor when B1 carpark are dark so if you are alone it can be scary as we don’t know anyone might be hiding behind those parking bays...
Read moreThe unit that we had in LOFT D level 9 (unit 9-13-A) was very spacious and location is great with direct access to Imago Mall. However, that's about it. Internet is next to useless. At best, you can send and receive messages via whatsapp. Browsing internet is a challenge. "Satellite TV" availability is also misleading; only free channels on the very VERY basic Astro (satellite tv provider) channels available. Maintenance is really poor. Unit was of acceptable cleanliness in the general common area. We found hair found in the kitchen sink. Perhaps they washed the mop there?(disgusting thought). It is advertised as an apartment but cooking utensils are limited. Pot and pan were charred (burnt) we had to scrub it ourselves.The worst experience was the master bedroom bathroom(ensuite)!The pipe connecting the toilet to sewage was leaking and we had to put up with the sewage smell throughout the stay and wash it ourselves everyday! A lady came to have a look to investigate the stench but no one came to fix it in the week that we were there. Cleaning was obviously not done properly as there we DRY PEE STAIN on the toilet seat. Yes they did offer us another unit but that alternative unit was much smaller than the one we paid for and they did not offer any refund of price difference. Skirting boards are swelling up and breaking apart due to moisture. This unit will basically go down the drain in the near future given their bad maintenance and cleaning plans. Read moreI recently stayed for 2 days (located at level 7) and found it to be quite spacious, which was a definite plus. The location is also excellent, situated conveniently near Imago shopping mall with easy access to shops and restaurants. I could spend a whole day at the mall, followed by a massage which is just opposite it. The room also provided free Netflix which is a ++!However, the apartment needed a number of improvement. Many items in the apartment are pretty run down. The sofa, in particular, is very wonky, and after sitting on it, I had some sort of insect bite marks on my legs and hands. The ensuite bathroom sink doesn’t drain water properly, which was quite inconvenient. Additionally, the bed condition is worn out and not very comfortable, and the towels provided are old and no longer white.You could hear the airplane flying past quite loudly since it's located quite near the airport.
