I recently stayed at your property in Room 401, and unfortunately, my experience was highly disappointing due to multiple service and facility issues:
Television & Wi-Fi Issue
Upon check-in, the TV was unable to connect to Wi-Fi.
It took your technician almost 20 minutes just to resolve this basic issue.
Hot Water Problem
Around 11:00 pm, we discovered that the bathroomâs hot water was not functioning.
A technician arrived at our room dressed in casual shorts and a t-shirt, which was very unprofessional.
After checking, we were informed through the receptionist that the hot water could not be fixed and that our only option was to move roomsâat nearly midnightâwith 6 adults. This was simply impractical.
When we requested alternative compensation, we were told that âmanagement is only available on Monday,â and therefore, nothing could be done. Later, we received another call repeating that room move was the only option, with no courtesy, flexibility, or empathy shown.
Late Check-Out Request
The next day at around 11:30 am, I requested a late check-out until 2:00 pm. The reception staff only allowed until 1:00 pm, despite initially offering a check-out before 1:00 pm upon check-in.
When I highlighted the hot water issue, the staff unhelpfully argued that they âalready offered a room move at midnight,â which is unacceptable as a resolution.
Overall Experience
By paying RM 380 per night, I expected a comfortable and professional experience. Instead, the lack of proper maintenance (hot water, TV Wi-Fi), unprofessional staff attitude, and poor problem resolution made my stay extremely unpleasant.
Before releasing a room like 401 to guests, your housekeeping and maintenance team should ensure everything is in working condition.
The hotel clearly requires both a major property upgrade and immediate staff training in customer service.
I sincerely hope that management takes this feedback seriously and implements the necessary improvements so future guests do not encounter the same...
Read moreThis 12 year old building is in a very affluent area of Penang called Tanjun Tokong. It is on a bus route that ends at the Jetty for the ferry to Butterworth that is now operated by fastcraft. The #102 bus serves the airport. The buses pass through Georgetown en route to the docks.
The rooms are spartan in furnishings but have all of the necessaries for a simulated local stay. The room is gargantuan in size at over 365 square metres. Housekeeping was done on my own for both staffing and environmental reasons as a courtesy, thus a service grade of "Incomplete".
There are abundant restaurants and shopping nearby, along with a fantastic restaurant in the complex that features wellness oriented products and food called Mama Kim. Sadly, Island Plaza and City Junction Malls that are a 10 minutes walk from the place are almost completely empty. There is a Western style supermarket in both malls, however.
Despite the lack of facilities like a gym or a pool, along with Internet that is best described as "wanting", this is still an excellent choice for accommodations in a good and safe area in a very well maintained complex with an excellent front desk staff despite staffing issues caused by the COVID Pandemic.
For a gym rat, go to Island Plaza's Team Powerhouse Gym on the 4th floor. The gym makes up for the lack of a gym at the building. Big pro place with excellent staff. Good snacks and beverage for purchase too!
Because of the lack of facilities and the faulty Internet, the Golden View Serviced Apartments rates an overall grade of "B" in...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel and was extremely disappointed with the service provided by the reception staff. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that they had no interest in making my stay a pleasant one. The staff members were rude and dismissive, barely acknowledging my presence as I checked in.
Throughout my stay, I encountered numerous issues with the room and attempted to address them with the reception staff. However, each time I approached them, I was met with an attitude of annoyance and inconvenience. It was as if they were doing me a favor by even listening to my concerns.
To make matters worse, the reception staff seemed completely disorganized and unable to handle even the simplest requests. I had to wait for extended periods of time for basic amenities like towels and toiletries to be delivered to my room.
Overall, I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel, as the reception staff's terrible service completely ruined what should have been an...
