The Palm Cafe & Bistro — Restaurant in George Town

Not a fan of al fresco dining in this heat. Will be better with mist fans installed and probably retractable shades outside so when it rains customers can still sit out. Indoor seating area with air conditioning is small.

Food is delicious but some dishes the portions are small and garnishes do not look like the pictures in their menu. So not worth the price. Made a complaint and a bigger portion was given. If there’s some vegetables on the plate of their dishes, it will make them more presentable and balanced.

Drinks are good.

Some waiters tend to serve the food without proper cutleries and some brought the food without cutleries. They need proper training.

Need a host/hostess to greet the customers and seating them at available table.

Scan menu at the table, order and pay at the counter.

Ordered and paid for their only dessert tiramisu, it took about 20mins to come to our table and it was off peak time. Had to go to the counter twice to remind them about our order and the cake was melting when arrived at our table.

This restaurant has the potential to be a very nice eatery as their food is delicious. Ambience is good for IG photos, pet friendly and trendy. However I will give it a month or 2 for them to fine tune before dining...

FOOD The food was delicious and the presentation was on point just like what you saw on their menu. I had the creamiest Tuscan Chicken and hearty Seared Scallops with Honey Mustard Avocado for lunch (you can see from the photo below). Just love it. Kudos the kitchen team.

SERVICE As I'm new to the place and no one is welcoming you where to sit or guide you where to go made me a bit uncomfortable. Probably this is just the concept of the restaurant that I didn't know because later you'll found the qr code is placing on the table for you to check out by yourself. Would love a little gesture from the staff here to make this visit a memorable place.

ATMOSPHERE Since I was here during lunch time, the weather is quite hot and was found only a few tables are placed inside the room with air conditioning. Lucky for me to have found that spot. However, the outside seating was not bad actually and you do feel like entering a hidden spot with greenery and beautiful ootd spots...

The rating is so high for this place, but what I can say is it's definitely overrated. The only good thing about this place is the ambience. Comfortable & nice for pictures. Basically, 0 service is provided. When we walked in, the staff noticed us but didn't walk up to us & serve. They just leave us there without any attention. No menu was provided & no instructions were given on food ordering. I took my own initiative to scan & order & pay online. The only thing they staff did was serve the food. Very inappropriate service manner. You're operating as a cafe, not a fast food chain store. The food also tastes below average. Even the recommended menu isn't on par.
