Great and comfortable place for a very nice stay in George Town. Good points: Clean apartment. Nice design, everything looks classy. Functional kitchen Very comfortable beds (with big and firm mattresses). Great bathroom We really had the feeling of 4* luxury! We were upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite which, while not needed for 1 couple, was still really appreciated as we felt in a huge place. To be improved: While the apartment and the furniture looks in a good condition, the walls and the paint are already cracked in many locations indicating it might not last long without the need for regular extensive maintenance. The two-bedroom apartments are great, but forget about resting on the sofa in the living room, you get so much noise from the street we thought several times the door had been opened... There is now an on-site reception (huge recent improvement) from 10am to 10pm. Outside of these hours you will need to call their other hotel for check in/out procedures. It took 5min for the gentleman to come for the check-in inspection, great! I personally don't like to have the security deposit taken automatically from my credit card to be returned within 14 days. I would have preferred it to be cash. All in all, I would come back with pleasure!

we recently stayed and experience was horrible. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find no reception staff present. Instead, there was a note directing me to call a phone number. When I called, I was informed that due to staffing shortages, the hotel is currently operating on a self-service basis. I was told that if I needed to speak to someone in person, I would need to go across the road to a different hotel for assistance. While I appreciate the challenges posed by staffing shortages, the absence of on-site assistance was disappointing and made us felt less safe. Although the room was clean, having no access to in-house support throughout the stay created a sense of inconvenience. Simple needs or questions felt unnecessarily complicated, as I had to go offsite to another hotel for any kind of assistance. Terrible !!! and boosting that is part of Ascott Hotel but service is just rubbish !!!

Part of the Penang Hotel Collection chain, same concept as her Hutton Central II hotel. Located at the make over heritage building, occupy the upper storey shop lots old building. Love the spacious family room with 1 king bedroom and a queen bedroom, living room, kitchen, washing machine, etc. However only one bathroom/toilet for the family room. High water pressure and best airconditioning. Since it is located at the upper storey, there is high staircase up to the room, it is not toddler and elderly friendly. Drawback for this hotel are no hotel designated parking lot, only can park at the back lane. Check in or check out are not really ease, need to call them then they will come over to the place from nearby PHC office. There is no hotel reception office there and housekeeping are mobile to come over for service, you cannot request the service during odd hours.

We stayed here for 1 night in a 2-bedroom suite. This hotel is made up of double-storey shoplots, where the units are located on the upper floor. Access to each suite is by key-code, from the street sidewalk. Reception area is on the ground floor of one of the shoplots, facing the busy road. So, it was quite difficult to stop our GrabCar there and unload our luggage. There isn't any porter service available, so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs to your suite.||||Check-in was fast, but the staff member handling our check-in was brash and inhospitable. I understand that he may have wanted to complete the check-in process as fast as possible but he made me feel irritated and unwelcome. A refundable deposit will be required.||||Suites are exactly as advertised, with furnishings that look and feel new. There is only 1 washroom available though, so each guest has to take turns. Towels and toiletries are provided. Taps/showers all come with hot/cold water.||||Kitchenette area comes with refridgerator, microwave, electric kettle, electric stove and a 7kg/5kg washer+dryer machine (all from Electrolux)! Was very impressed that a washing machine was provided and managed to wash/dry my laundry with the detergent provided in the kitchen sink cabinet. Dish washing liquid and cutlery are also provided.||||Bedroom was comfortable but there is some noise from the traffic on the busy road. For us, it was still bearable and we managed to sleep. ||||On hindsight, maybe this place isn't so good for people with young children. As our suite had a staircase from the suite door, and children have to be monitored to prevent them from falling down these stairs. Secondly, the suite door opens out directly to the street sidewalk, which is right next to the busy road. Again young children with a tendency to run around, may accidentally run into traffic on the road. ||||However, if you do not have young children with you, are not a light sleeper and need facilities like the one at home, do...

I stayed for 2 nights (Sunday and Monday) in early November 2019 with my parents in a 2 bedroom suite. ||||Having lived in high rise flats my whole life, it was an interesting experience staying on the second floor of a preserved shophouse in the UNESCO world heritage site. Just a walk up a flight of stairs and we're in the room.||||We did not mind that the hotel did not have facilities like a restaurant, swimming pool, or gym, considering that we only needed the hotel for a good rest from travelling.||||Our room was very spacious with all the amenities that we required. Cooking equipment like induction cooker, cooking pan, and cutlery were also provided. ||||Our sleep was not affected by the traffic noise, even for a light sleeper like my mother. While we could hear the traffic from our room in the day time, the noise reduced at night during our stay.||||Our room was within walking distance to Cecil Street market and hawker centre, which provided many local Chinese food options. We also walked to First Avenue Mall, a shopping centre that housed many international brands. The nearest convenience store that we found was about a 10 minute walk away.||||The hotel reception was located just beside my room and the friendly staff were well versed in English. The reception was only open from 10am to 10pm. If you have to check in or check out outside of opening hours, you might have to call the hotel number. We had to pay a 200 MYR deposit when we checked in, that was refunded upon check out. ||||Considering the spaciousness of the room and its convenient location, I would definitely consider staying in this hotel again if I am travelling to Penang...

All its 10 apartment suites are on the upper floors of a row of 2-storey shop lots in a UNESCO World Heritage site. (Those with mobility impairment may face difficulty climbing the staircase.) Reception opens 10am to 10pm. If checking in or out at other hours, call the hotel number; a staff at the administrative office will come to attend.||Limited parking bays along an alley beside the hotel. Well lighted at night plus CCTV cameras. ||Our spacious 600-plus sq ft 2-bedroom suite occupies the entire floor. A king and queen bed. The hall sofa can be used for sleeping too. Impressed by the cleanliness. Well equipped with amenities including a full-height fridge, induction cooker, microwave, cooking pan, electric kettle and cutlery. There’s even an all-in-one washer dryer machine. Hair dryer, iron and ironing board also provided. Two flat screen tv sets – one in the hall and the master room. However, only 8 channels.||The hotel is located along a busy road. Traffic noise is bearable during the day and we slept well at night. ||Nearby amenities: Hotel is a good starting point to explore nearby places of interest or shop for local food stuffs or snacks. First Avenue Mall and Southeast Asia’s largest Sikh temple - Wadda Gurdwara - are located in the vicinity. ||Hotel is a short walk to the well-known Maju Deens Nasi Kandar restaurant. The Cecil Street market and food hawker centre as well as many food stalls on Lebuh McNair and Lebuh Presgrave should be on one’s...
