I had the pleasure of staying at the brand-new [FIFTH AVENUE HOTEL PENANG ] during my recent trip to Penang, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. As a newly opened hotel, everything felt fresh, modern, and thoughtfully designed.
The check-in process was smooth, and the staff made me feel incredibly welcome. They were attentive and eager to ensure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel itself boasts a contemporary style with sleek interiors and a calming ambiance.
My room was spacious and immaculately clean, with modern amenities like a comfortable bed, a large flat-screen TV, big balcony and the bathroom was modern and luxurious, equipped with high-end toiletries, and the rainfall shower was just perfect after a long day of sightseeing.
The view from the room was a nice bonus, offering a glimpse of the beautiful Penang skyline.
One of the standout features of the hotel was the rooftop infinity pool, which offered breathtaking views of the city and the coastline. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with a drink after a day of exploring.
There’s also a well-equipped gym, which I appreciated, as well as a spa for anyone looking for some pampering.
Breakfast at the hotel was an absolute treat. They offer a diverse range of options, from traditional local dishes like nasi lemak to international favourites.
The location of the hotel is also ideal, situated close to key attractions in Penang, with plenty of dining and shopping options within walking distance. It made exploring George Town and the surrounding areas incredibly convenient.
Overall, I had a fantastic stay at FIFTH AVENUE HOTEL PENANG and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a blend of modern luxury and comfort in Penang.
With its excellent facilities, prime location, and superb service, it’s a perfect choice for both leisure and business travelers. I’m already planning...
Read moreMy mum and I stayed at the Fifth Avenue Hotel from 23 to 30 Sep 2025. The Fifth Avenue opened less than a year ago so everything is still very new. It is very well located on the name-sake 5th Avenue (local Hokkien name for McCallum Avenue), sandwiched between the 3rd Avenue which is where you can find the famous Duck Egg Charcoal Char Kway Teow, Hae Mee & Lor Mee and Oyster Omelette (be prepared to queue for 30min, we did), and the 7th Avenue where the famous Cecil Street Market is located. Cecil Street market is a wonderful place to have breakfast, which is why we never had our breakfast at the hotel. We had one lunch at the hotel and the Hainan Fried Chicken was delicious. The hotel is only 5min walk away from the 1st Avenue Mall, Prangin Mall and Komtar. It has a beautiful rooftop pool and a gym which I had enjoyed quite a bit at night. The room is beautifully and tastefully decorated. Something I haven’t seen before in a hotel is a dining room. It has a kitchenette and dining room! It has a dining table with 4 chairs, a microwave oven, a sink, a mini fridge, a kettle, a drinking water faucet and cabinetry. Wow, haven’t seen that in other hotels yet. The TV program was very comprehensive and the reception was among the clearest I’ve come across in a hotel. But most important of all, the service was wonderful because the staff were wonderful, and they really made our 1-week stay there very memorable. We will definitely stay there again and we highly recommend this hotel to those who are looking for a well located, well priced and well run holiday...
Read moreI booked a 2-night stay at the Herriot Suite through Agoda. The listing clearly showed a room with a bunk bed, which was a key reason for my booking. However, upon my late check-in at 12:30 AM, I was assigned a room without the bunk bed.
I immediately called the front desk to confirm whether I was given the correct room type. They informed me that it was indeed the correct room, but the one with the bunk bed was fully booked for the weekend. I was asked to call again in the morning to follow up.
The next morning, I tried calling the hotel more than 10 times, only to receive the same response each time: they were waiting for the manager to arrive at 3 PM. I asked for the manager to call me urgently, but no one took the initiative to resolve the issue. Fortunately, I had screenshots of the room I originally booked as proof. I also contacted the hotel via WhatsApp and sent all the evidence, but again, no one seemed interested in helping.
Eventually, at around 3:30 PM, the hotel contacted me to say that the bunk bed room was now ready, and we were finally able to move in around 4 PM after an entire day wasted dealing with miscommunication and lack of accountability.
To the manager, Daniel I am extremely disappointed in your service. If you are unable to manage your team or resolve guest issues effectively, perhaps it’s time to reconsider your position. On the other hand, I’d like to commend the F&B team they were very welcoming ,professional, and delivered the level of service one would expect from a hotel. Daniel, you could learn a...
