My friend recommended it - It’s a place that he will go for lunch each time he came to Penang. He said the lard rice was the best. The outside look nice, the tables were all placed on the front yard.
So we ordered the lard rice with luncheon meat and a pork chop wonton mee, those were in a set with sago. The boss wasn’t patient and unfriendly while we order, after taking orders he said it will be taking a long time.
After 40 minutes of waiting, the foods finally served, and now it surprised me with the small portion of lard rice, I mean, it’s just a small bowl with an egg and half cut of thin luncheon meat. I thought that the taste will be super pleasant and outstanding but it’s not. The lard rice wasn’t really had that lard flavor, and the fried lard was soft as well, luncheon just as normal as the normal egg. Pork chop was too hard to chew, wonton mee was not bad. Sago was good.
The price was above average with that small portion and simple ingredients, I would never recommended it to anyone I know! Let’s think about it, why do you want to pay for this ‘not worth the values’ food and wasting time in this warm open...

Serve a decent variety of local rice and noodle dishes, in addition to tong sui and fruit juices. However, a lot of it was sold out and they literally shut the gates by 7:30pm. To be fair, the restaurant is in their front garage and there's no access to a toilet.
Husband and wife team frantically trying to meet the rising demands, so service isn't the best or fastest, but the food is supremely tasty and portion size is heavy protein and not overly hefty.
Pricing is 12-18 for mains, with drinks around 8-10. Good mix of single and group seating, but don't expect aircon or free...
Read moreA small, rustic cafe operated by what I presume is a husband-wife duo which serves simple yet delicious food.
The cafe’s specialty seems to be crunchy pork lard-based rice or noodles and sago-based desserts. We had the basic pork lard rice topped with an egg and pork chop dried noodles which were both delicious.
The dining area is only available at the porch of the cafe/house (ie. no indoor dining) as I believe the couple resides in house. However, the outdoor dining area is quite cool because of the roof covering it and the fans and greenery surrounding it. From their signage, customers are not allowed to use their washrooms, so personal bladder management is recommended...
