Update: manager has already called my room to discuss my list. He wanted to meet but that is not necessary, they are all small things. Also, I'm sure the manager does not control hotel renovation budgets and can only fix so many things. He offered a room change which I told him is not necessary as I will depart a night early, so he offered a refund for that night, but that is not fair either as I will not depart till mid afternoon, well after check out time, so again told him it is not necessary.
Post pool I walked down the street and got my coca cola at a 7-11. Had not had one for a while and felt like it after the pool.
The manager sounded like he is sincerely trying and told me he will not fire the house keeper playing games as he did a good job cleaning my room, made bed, fresh towels and gave me extra water and toilet paper before I saw or wrote any of this. Also, I took a hot shower with good water pressure and did not leave the floor mat nor clothing on the floor, so the water drained across the floor near the toilet.
It's not all bad.... I saw the bad reviews but the north hotel was reviewed slightly better than the south so I booked 3 free nights there with hilton points as the 5 Star Hilton at KL Sentral was full.
I was not expecting the executive lounge at the Hilton repeated here, but even simple stuff is a disappointment.
Yes, stains all over carpets, marks on walls, mildew in bathrooms. Small toilet with a seat that you have to hold up to stand and pee, which is foolish. Sometimes hot water scalding, sometimes its warm, depends on the time of day.
The hotel says it has a pool, but you have to walk down the street to the South hotel for a pool. I am sitting at the pool right now on 5G because their system is not smart enough to know the other tower's room numbers to allow you onto wifi.
I had a 40RM beer at pool last night and thought I would get a coke today with ice. Their drink cooler is empty, they have seltzer and sprite only.
When I checked in I got a trainee which was fine, till waiting for the elevators and then neither key works so had to return to lobby. She recommended I take the points as a diamond member instead of the breakfast. Maybe that's on my profile since breakfast is usually free at HG Inns. I asked if breakfast is good and her response was that there are a lot of options. I tried it this morning and switched back to points. The toast was fine as long as you stand there and run bread through the toaster 2x. No water the whole time I was there, but some juice. I told the hostess about the lack of water and she did nothing.
They have a custom omlette option if you reach through a window and ring a bell. Can't really screw that up so I ordered a cheese, mushroom and onion omlette and it was done pretty quickly. Zero salt nor pepper so flavorless and I received a 1-2 egg omlette with zero cheese, zero mushrooms and a few small pieces of cooked onion that were tasteless, but I did see onion in 1 or 2 bites so at least it was there. I added salt and white pepper at the table, but really not good.
My room was cleaned, water bottles replaced so no issues there. My room is so clean the housekeeper has been outside my room for an hour playing a video game on his phone behind his cart. Hopefully his work for the day is done.
Finally, not a purely Hilton thing, I've seen the toilet sprayer with no trigger mechanism other places as well, but always assumed the end had been stolen from a public toilet. How does one use dirty left hand, and hold this water pipe, and turn the water on and off, all while the faucet is on the right side? I'm a dumb westerner, really no idea. Also, shower has a glass panel separating it from the rest of the bath but still manages to flood the bathroom floor. Engineering marvel, don't leave anything on the floor.
All little things, but they add up and I would really like to be sipping an ice cold coke by the pool on wifi right now, maybe even at my hotel since it says...
Read moreWe arrived at the hotel we were dropped off in the middle of the street due to no dedicated placed for drop off guests in front of the hotel. When checking in to the Hilton Garden Inn Kuala Lumpur North was met by front desk clerk, the hotel clerk put us in the six floor hell hole of the hotel, and I was told by her this is the floor for the rate that I picked, I just pick standard queen room with breakfast that wasn’t the best explanation that I would’ve expected from the Hilton , however, after inspecting the room, I returned to the front and spoke to the front desk manager Rae, as a Hilton honors member this room does not even meet the bare minimum expectations of the Hilton brand. The carpet had stains all over it. The walls had marks and paint peeling all over the room the formica couch was not even repaired. Big old chips in it, curtains were stained and the toilet was running. And the windows looked like they haven’t been cleaned in years so your view out the window was your arrival roof. Not the best impression upon checking in they did move us to the 14th floor. The room still had stain carpets, but it looked less used than the 6 th floor. However, regardless of what rate the hotel offers, there is a general expectation of cleanliness and a properly maintained .The air conditioning system was either cold or hot. It was on or off there is a thermostat, but it does not work. With the air conditioning on you are freezing fantastic if you’d like cold however you can adjust the temperature at all and we tried for five days we had it set for 27°C and we felt like we were in a refrigerator . The fitness room that they have is a few treadmills bikes and a cable machine due to a very limited space but it’s nothing except for a couple machines.Let’s move on to breakfast, I stayed at Hilton‘s all over the world and the Hilton brand has always had a very good breakfast. This breakfast was so far beneath that standard.Where to begin. They had the same food five days in a row, mostly Indian style food . Their mixed fruit was two types of melon everyday in some type of refrigerated cabinet served on a tray not the best way to display fruit and yogurt. They did offer toast and some old pastries that were less than tasty to say the least. There was an egg window where you could actually order omelettes Over easy eggs, or scrambled eggs. However, they kept running out of anything to add to the omelettes. I just asked for cheese they didn’t have any cheese. Seems like a basic item for Hilton brand buffet breakfast. They did have a coffee machine that worked, but the coffee wasn’t hot. They have no idea how to fix it. They also offer juices which are just taste like powdered juices. The fresh milk came out of a carton underneath the counter. I don’t know if you ever had cereal for breakfast but you don’t want warm milk. The sign says fresh milk, but fresh milk was not the case when it comes out of radiated box milk.I would’ve thought a Hilton brand would had more American style breakfast instead of strictly Indian. It is a Hilton however .This was dismal to say the least.so if you’re gonna get a room with breakfast, I would just get a regular room and go get breakfast somewhere else. My only regret was I didn’t take any pictures at breakfast.I did hear from the staff that the Kuala Lumpur Hilton Garden Inn South has a nice breakfast and that hotel is right next-door. It also has 26 floors and a swimming pool on the roof with a bar attached if I was going to return, I would stay there. The price is exactly the same , and even though I’ve heard the rooms are a little smaller. The hotel is beautiful compared to this one.I would hope the Hilton would come and inspect this hotel be a surprise visit and see what your guests and Hilton honor members are receiving at this hotel and have this hotel brought up to the minimum Hilton standards for Hilton Garden Inn, Hotel . cause somebody sure dropped the ball...
Read moreHilton Garden Point has a nice view, especially at night. It’s not a huge area, but it’s still suitable for any group wanting to celebrate their special day. However, there is a lot of room for improvement, especially in terms of service and food.||1. Staff:|When I entered the area, there was no reception counter, which is not up to the standard expected of a 4-star hotel restaurant, especially under the Hilton brand. No one greeted me, and I had to go directly to the bar counter to mention my reservation. The staff was not friendly at all. When I gave my name, the waiter didn’t even look at me and continued doing something else. He ended up assigning me to the wrong table. We waited for 10 minutes, and no one came to ask us about our order. Suddenly, a waiter brought juice and coffee, which didn’t make sense. Only then did I realize that we were seated at the wrong table. This is why the service staff must focus on the information when guests approach them. Clear communication is a basic expectation for any service industry. ||Since I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday, I did not expect this kind of service from a Hilton brand. Your service reflects the company's standards, and based on this experience, I will not recommend this place to anyone. There are many other places with nice views, and one of the reasons I chose this place because of the brand.||2. Food|The food was disappointing, and I deeply regret choosing to dine there. Even food from a regular shop is three times better.||• The Creamy Mushroom Soup (V) was too salty.|• The Seaside Sizzle Salmon was dry, spicy, and tasted like old salmon. Fresh salmon should be soft and easy to cut.|• The Lamb’s Charred Symphony was overcooked. My husband said we should have asked for a kitchen knife because it was too tough to cut (he really start annoying).|• The Burnt Cheesecake was the worst. It was difficult to cut because it was freezing cold. It seemed like they had kept it in the chiller before serving, which made the texture unpleasant. A cheesecake should be smooth and soft.||We couldn’t finish the food, and I ended up paying RM 320++ for nothing. In the end, we went to buy a Ramlee burger, which tasted much better. I’m not a wealthy person, but since it was my husband’s birthday, I really wanted to celebrate at a nice place with good food and a pleasant environment. Unfortunately, this experience was frustrating and sad, especially when my husband had to keep his stomach empty (because his rarely eat at night) so we could enjoy dinner at a Hilton hotel. This was meant to be a special memory, but it was ruined.||I’m sharing this honest review because I don’t want others to have the same disappointing experience on their special day. A celebration should create good memories, not frustrations. I believe that there are many negative reviews and experiences on your TableApp, similar to mine. I think management should take all of these reviews seriously.||With this review I suggest/hope that your hotel uphold the Hilton standard in terms of service, food, and the overall guest experience for those who trust your brand. Even though you are a 4-star hotel, you are still a Hilton Brand. Please train your staff on how to communicate effectively with guests, starting with understanding and anticipating their questions, being clear, managing expectations, asking for feedback, and showing empathy.||For the kitchen, chefs should taste their own food before serving it to guest if needed and ensure it is served at the correct temperature. The cheesecake, for example, was just one slice for us to share and celebrate, but it felt like it had just come out of the chiller. so from beginning till end there is no food...
