checked in around 10:30 PM with my 3-year-old son, exhausted after a long day — only to step into what felt like a horror movie. The room smelled awful, like mould and stagnant water. The aircond was broken and leaking badly — it felt like it was raining inside. Gabriel whispered, “Daddy, what is this place? I’m scared.” And honestly, I was too. There was no one at reception when we arrived. I waited 30 minutes before a foreign staff member (non-Malaysian) appeared. He didn’t speak English or Malay well, and check-in took another 30 minutes. When we got to our room, the key card didn’t work. A rude guard came 10 minutes later with no apology and opened the door like I was disturbing his nap. Inside, the bathroom had only 1 flickering light and black mould covered the ceiling. The room was humid, smelly, and felt unsafe. The bathroom door even had a public toilet-style latch. Next morning, I went for the complimentary breakfast listed in my booking. A foreign staff member (appears to be from India) shouted “Who are you?” across the room — without checking anything. I was embarrassed in front of everyone. After I insisted, he finally checked my room and let me in. No apology, no manners — just “Get in.” The food was terrible: Stale coco crunch Cold dishes Only spicy food — not suitable for children Salty omelette No working aircond in dining area — I was sweating while eating. 🚫 Please avoid this place — especially if you're a parent, travelling with kids, or expecting even basic comfort. This was one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had in Malaysia. Unprofessional, unhygienic, and absolutely not worth your money.

Terrible Experience – Scam Warning! Poor Quality Facilities and Overcharging Tourists I recently stayed at Kingston Hotel 5 in Malaysia as part of a group tour, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. 🚫 Extremely Poor Washroom Quality The washroom in our room was in horrible condition. The sink was mounted on a fake wooden counter made of cheap local sheet material – not even real wood. It was so weak that even a light touch could cause it to fall apart. One of our group members accidentally slipped, and the sink counter collapsed and the sink broke. 😡 Scam & Blackmailing Tourists Instead of taking responsibility for using such low-quality materials, the hotel staff blamed us and charged us 1500–2000 MYR for something that couldn’t have cost more than 100 MYR to fix. This is clearly a scam to extort money from innocent tourists. ⚠️ Unsafe and Unprofessional Environment It’s extremely unsafe, especially in a bathroom where someone can easily slip. Rather than offering help or support, the hotel staff were rude and opportunistic. It seems like they intentionally use cheap materials and then blame guests for “damages” to overcharge them. 📸 We recorded the whole scene with videos and pictures, and we strongly advise others to be careful. ❗ DO NOT STAY HERE Avoid Kingston Hotel 5 at all costs. This place is unsafe, unprofessional, and runs scams on tourists. Don’t ruin your trip with a stay here. There are much better and more honest places nearby.

Pros, staff is friendly, strategic location, near to several LRT, monorail, MRT station; a lot of food stall, from budget to expensive; hotel provide drinking water, coffee & tea too. Dedicated parking lot for guest available around the hotel, in front, side and behind, I visit non peak session, a lot of parking space Cons, the hotel takes over from another hotel, some part of the furniture is damage, can see some wall paper crack, soap bottle damage, but still not a big issue. I stay at top floor, some engine sound from rooftop are very annoying, especially at quiet night, I told the front desk, they can't do anything. Update on my 2nd visit at Oct 2024 and 3rd visit at Jan 2025, I found the room full of insect repellent smell; this Jan 2025 visit, I even request change room, but after change to 3rd room, all the same. The smell makes me feel dizzy and very annoying. The hotel really need to look into this issue.

This hotel honestly feels like my second home whenever I visit Kuala Lumpur. The rooms are super clean, modern, and really well-maintained — they give you that peaceful, cozy, almost luxury-like vibe that just helps you relax after a long day. I’ve stayed here three times already this year, and every time has been such a smooth and enjoyable experience.

On my recent trip, there was a small technical issue with my booking — the dates got shifted, and it looked like my check-in and check-out were a day earlier than planned. I was a bit stressed at first (although it was a technical error, not a mistake from my side), but one of the staff members, Zubed Ahmed, handled it like a true professional. He fixed everything really quickly and made sure I didn’t have to waste my time standing in line or going back and forth to the reception. Thanks to him, I got to enjoy my trip without any unnecessary hassle. That kind of service really stands out.

What I love most about this hotel is how calm and peaceful it is. The environment is quiet, the staff are always smiling and helpful, and everything just feels clean and well taken care of. You can tell they put effort into making guests feel welcome and comfortable.

I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. The price are also shockingly affordable. Whether it’s your first time in Kuala Lumpur or you’ve been here before, this hotel is totally worth it. I’ll definitely keep coming back every time I’m in the city. So happy and satisfied with...
