Let me tell you my experience with this university.
Took foundation for a year here and my experience of learning in this place was horrible.
First of all, there were total of 125 students in my class so sometimes, they gave us small classes so we had to cramp ourselves in there. Usually I sit in the front so I can focus more on the lectures but most of the time, students who decided to sit on the back made lots of noises so me and my friends sometimes made a loud shuuuusshhh to make them shut up. This wasn't a big issue for me though.
My biggest problem in this place was the admin and the finance department. My counsellor as well; he barely does his job. Well, if you guys decided to go here, try to avoid Navinder for your counsellor. He just wants the money, that's all. Not trying to shame him, but me and my friends can't see him as someone useful.
For the finance department, well, it's a trouble. Usually I use my debit card to make my monthly payment and you know what, it took me at least 30 minutes just to make the payment and get the receipt every time I made a transaction. And, they are such manipulators, just to grab your wallet. Late payment for 1 day equals to RM5. They sometimes closed for upgrading reasons and because of their fault, students can't make the payment and they had to pay the penalty. (Another student's issue but I decided to put in as well)
Now for the admin, I had to go ups and downs just to grab my exam slips and results. And it took me almost 2 hours because of how slow the finance department is. And every time you need to make affairs with them like issuing a complaint of your counsellor, penalty issues and etc, I had to call every single person (most of the time, they weren't there) and waiting, waiting, go to class, come back again, and waiting for a long time.
On the bright side, I like most of the lecturers though like Sir Hassan and Madam Damiah. It was fun learning in their classes. And the facilities are a-okay.
Conclusion, you can join if you think you can handle all the trouble and their arrogance of holding the University Malaya's name. c:

Read moreUnfortunately i was One of the university victims. I faced many problems due to the poor management. I end up being terminated in my 5th semester with around 10 other student all of them international students (All international students not more then 200 students in the university ). In fact international students face so many problems (i was a student council member i knew almost every international student in the university and at least 80% of them have problems either with FINANCE OR REGISTRY OR ACCOMMODATION...). I was taking some subjects in atmosphere where i am the only international student in the class. lectures speak Malayu during the class very often. very hard to do group assignment bcz locals prefer to work with locals n thts normal by th way. There are few friendly staff in th university but majority are very rude and unprofessional.
Good luck if u Still STUDYING there or planning to study there.
Read moreThis review is a summary from 3 years of my Marketing Degree here in IUMW:
In terms of the Academic department, lecturers are on point in their delivery! Providing interactive tutoring, intensive tutorials for comprehension purposes and so forth, a definite memorable & beneficial experience so far!
Management & Registry department too deserve a well appreciated applause! I congratulate them for keeping students well informed on their status, especially support on administrative queries and all!
Sales and Marketing & Support department, though we as students may not have direct contact with them, I truly respect their work as I too am within said departments, being the International Marketing for SEGi, I truly respect their pulling in of Daily Enrollment for both local and international students & agents and providing diversity for the institution.
This review is dedicated to the Finance department, for spoiling the experience during convocation! With confirmation on completion of my course by attaining the completion letter which has went through QC checks with Registry, Library & Finance themselves I have managed to attain the Softcopy Transcript, Softcopy Completion Letter & all supporting documents to allow for a smooth convocation, but no, they had to put me under "outstanding payment" last minute! I have been paying on time, self funded and never missed a late payment and yet, this happened, totally crushed the moment of receiving my official hardcopy transcript! Where is the logic for allowing me to be able to attend through the whole process and experience only to get rejected upon collection. Truly...
