We booked a triple sharing room, full board.
For drivers who need to park your cars at departure jetty: Drove to their sales office, offloaded our bags there and parked our car at a different area. Some guy touted us to follow them to park our car nearby, paid RM45 for 3days worth of parking. There weren’t any parking space nearby so I guess it’s acceptable. On our return, we had to call a number on the parking ticket and he will collect you on his motorbike to collect the car.
Boat transfer: Experience was okay. Booked for 11am boat. Staff gathers all the passenger and walk over to the jetty to board the speedboat. Journey roughly 30-45mins depending on sea conditions. Be prepared to get some splashes during rough sea conditions , it’s fine, really. Once we arrive to the long beach jetty, our bags are offloaded to the hotel lobby.
At the hotel: We weren’t allowed to check in until 3pm but we were allowed to have lunch and jump into the pool during the wait so we had things to do to kill time. The massage centre offers a free 5mins massage prior to check in if you’d like. I didn’t because I only saw the sign upon checkout ☹️
The room: Decent size, clean, drinks in minibar is free. We had ordered in a baby cot. It’s the white wooden frame type. The cot is okay, just that the bed itself is hard, would be better if it came with a mattress. In the end baby slept on our bed, the cot still used while the bub plays on her own. Sound proofing of the room probably minimal, I had guests playing music next door till late hours and we had to enjoy that music too ☹️
The food: Breakfast spread has most variety compared to their lunch and dinner spread. Quality is okay, but don’t expect too much.
The snorkelling trip: This came with the full board package, where you will book ahead. This is a small speedboat, there were supposed to be only 10of us but 4 more walked in. They crammed all of us in, else it would be abit more comfortable. The boat dropped us off at 4 snorkelling spots. One by the beach (to let us get the hang of the snorkelling gear), one spot to look at school of fishes, one spot to check out black tip coral sharks, one spot to look at sea turtles. For the ones who wishes to remain on the boat, best if you bring some bread with you to feed the fishes .Overall much better than redang where it tends to be overcrowded with people. My kids had fun. This trip took about 2.5hrs.
Diving: I had a scuba review and a few fun dives with their dive centre. Price is pretty reasonable with around RM95 per dive, gears included. Do inspect the equipment yourselves, we had a leaking o ring at the regulator upon arriving at the dive site and they did not have spares so one person had to abort their dive. Dive master and staff are friendly and their facilities are decent.
Overall decent experience, staff did their best with their service and my family had a good time. Will return if we wish to go back to...

For those travelling with children or elderly people.. This Resort is for you.. There is elevator and ramp for your stroller / wheelchair.. DONT Worry.. Plus the resort next to jetty.
We took the FULL BOARD Package and we have NO regrets at all !!! I could give more stars to this resort!!! My husband & I really enjoyed the room, the view, the food was very delicious. Although we had to go for the set menu on the 2nd day instead of the buffet, maybe because there weren't many people. But, I'm telling you guys, we really enjoyed the food choices from the menu. The chef's food is delicious. + there are 2pc bands during dinner time - he is very good singer. he sings slow and romantic songs. Love it, and love the food, love the staff.
Me & My husband, last minute plan to Perhentian Island. We made reservation directly to the hotel's sales / reservation staff. Attended by Shafiq. He was very polite and helpful. I can say, my husband gave him a hard time when he booked with many questions and requests. But, I was impressed with syafiq. He was so patient with him.
Arriving at the jetty, I was a little disappointed because I could see many boats parked in front of the beach, the scenery was not like that 7-8 years ago :-(.
But when I checked into my room. I got a different feeling vibe. I like the room. Clean, Love the bathroom, bed, balcony. shower water pressure, overall, I am very happy with the cleanliness in the room. Yes, the floor feels a bit sandy, but hey.. you're on a beach vacation. Plus there are slippers in the room. I have no complaint.
inside the mini bar fridge , pepsi, lemon ice tea, cincau, mineral water, nuts, cookies are free. We love it..
Not to forget the staff... they are ALL very friendly, very helpful, they helped our luggage's from the moment we arrived at the Mimpi land office - jetty - resort and back to land. Very convenient and relaxing holiday for us.
last but not least, we would like to thank you to Syafiq, Suhaili, Pamela, Chef, and the lady at the reception team, bellman staff.. for making our holiday beautiful and memorable even though the Perhentian island is not what it used to be but the water is still clear and beautiful. Only the beach little bit crowded for us. Don't blame us, we came from Rawa Island.. Hehehehe...
Opsss, only one thing, you should have male masseur at your resort spa. I am not comfortable to allow young lady to massage my husband. Little bit weird when your resort are not serving alcohol but in spa, you allow this young lady to massage a guy ? its not a good impression especially to married woman.. hahahahaha...Just my 2 cents.
Overalll ... We are happy with your resort & service....
Read moreDo NOT be fooled by the photos... DO NOT STAY HERE! Has BED BUGS and mold issues. Informed staff about the bites after the first night and was handed a 2 year expired tube of mosquito bite cream, and they “changed” the sheets (lol). Hotel didn’t offer to move rooms or provide compensation in any way. For bed bugs. Was not able to cancel reservation, would have lost my entire weeks deposit, otherwise I would have bolted. At checkout, staff didn’t even apologize or seem empathetic, just said they “checked the room and didn’t find any bed bugs”. Well… the bugs sure found us! As far as I could tell, they were about to offer the room up to the next unsuspecting guest. Couldn’t sleep the entire time staying there due to bed bugs, this terrible experience ruined good portion of visit to the island due to the bug infestation. Saltwater pool out front smells like raw sewage/dead fish and wafts into hotel, rooms have paper thin walls (often thought someone was in our room because of how close they sounded), chain lock on door was broken (sketchy!), bathroom is dim and has strong gross moldy smell, AC blows cold but has mold as well. Breakfast buffet disappointing with suspect meats, but other buffet meals looked better. Very sad, as looks-wise, Mimpi could be one of the nicer resorts on the island, but the room and staff reaction to our issues was garbage. Doesn’t have seats / umbrellas on the beach, just on their strange boardwalk thing next to the sewer pool. Roaches would skitter under the furniture every time we came back, killed a couple every night. Previous occupants were seemingly doing the same, given the uncleaned bug smears all over the walls. Additionally, hotel does not accept the credit cards they claim to on their website (no Amex) and does not sell or allow alcohol on the premises. Bring cash to this island if you decide to visit. Only saving grace was the restaurant was really good when ordering entrees and very reasonably priced and the hostesses working there were very attentive and helpful. Otherwise, strongly recommend you look elsewhere for your lodging or beware. Did I mention the room had bed bugs, and the staff did almost nothing to help and offered no compensation or...
